Well as a lead off hitter they are expected to get on base, they usually have higher averages, or just a higher OBP. Shouldn't be demoted though

I didn't read into it as a public callout. I think it's just how McHale chooses to motivate him all while tempering expectations. Look at it from this perspective; Lin has a ridiculous amount of pressure on his shoulders. He's not an All-Star player nor should he be expected to replicate Linsanity. His fans are the poor kid's worst enemy and most of them lack the intellect to realize it. He just needs to improve his jumper and cut down on the turnovers. We've seen the strides he's made over the past month and a half. McHale knows Lin is his starting PG for at least another season. He's not trying to alienate him.

Sigh, here I go repeating myself, what you brought up does not contradict McHale's recent comment, it explains why he brought up 29pts and the exagerrated 9TOs?? Its clear he is referencing to Linsanity (PC word homerun). He is basically saying Lin would rather go Linsanity then do what the team needs from him to win. Its not that complicated and his words are not that cryptic.

Look around. Discriminating, double-standard "tough love" doesn't always work.

McHale needs to learn how to motivate people in the right way. Lin's mental toughness is one thing, but it doesn't mean he deserves to be treat this way.

"well Harden is delivering like a max level player and then some... "

Well, that's the funny thing. Harden is doing the exact thing McHale is telling Lin not to do. Harden is scoring alot of points, but at the same time he is making alot of turnovers, and he is not even a point guard. Harden currently has the third highest turnover rate of all players in the NBA. Harden is an amazing player, but its kinda weird that McHale is telling Lin not to score alot of points and have high turnover rate when Harden is doing exactly that.

That's because Harden is arguably the best SG in the league right now. Lin is not even in the top half of pgs. Be realistic

I don't think he had issue alienating Lowry whoever's fault it ended up being. Anyway, look McHale is a HOF and he probably has an ego as big as any, rightfully so. It is not out of the realm of possibility that he thinks Lin is trying to go Linsanity on him at the expense of a win. And he called Lin out on that. I just wished he wouldnt do it publicly, coz Lin comes across as a douchebag.

A point guard's job is to pass the ball and make the team better. A Shooting guard's job is shoot the ball and score points. Lin is a PG. harden is a SG

Does that mean Parsons has no accountability and standards as a player because he has the cheapest contract amongst starters and makes less than a million?

    What do you say?

Ok to say he isn't even in the top half is pushing it. He isn't the best PG, but I'd say he has been better than at least half of the PGs

Cmon now... Lin is just not ready or will ever be as ready to take over games a Harden can. I don't blame McHale one bit if he chooses Harden over Lin. But yes, I dont see any harm in Lin run the offense with much more PnR plays when Harden is off the court or to add another dimension to the offense.

Oh great, another debate about Jeremy Lin's play thus far. Completely going off topic, expect another 200+ pages.

Yes, and in the Rockets team the shooting guard has been making more turnovers per game then the point guard. Yet the point guard gets chewed out for turnovers.

Lowry has always been a headcase. He was at Villanova, Memphis, here and Toronto. He made it easy for them to take his spot in how he handled himself. I completely disagree on Lin looking like a douchebag. From everything I've seen this year he's handled criticism and taken responsibility for his inconsistant play. Plus, everyone knows he's a good guy. I can see your perspective in terms of not wanting things discussed in the media. That said, I don't think there was any harm in it and jeremy seems to respect McHale. Look no further then him letting him make the call to play when he had the flu. If McHale didn't like him he wouldn't have made it jeremy's call

All I can think is that the whoever came up with the original quote is probably thinking what an accomplishment he's done with 48+ pages on an unconfirmed quote. And even if it is a legit quote, it's probably taken out of context. Not to mention the site always comes up with bs titles and twists stories all the time. You've all been trolled. Stop coming up with conspiracy theories.

Except I've managed to have a good conversation and all you do is wave pom poms because you lack any substance to your arguement. Maybe if you put some thought into your posts you'd do better. Much like your high school prom you're left holding your dick
