i don't believe DD talked about your case. he is more frustrated with harden leaving his man wandering around corner or baseline without notice.

I smiled seeing that #BeWell...but Sorry, I won't retract my analoy...:) , anyway, it's just my own opinion so anyone can disagree with..I'm okay with it..

Harden has the skills and everything thus, he is the body of the team..but Lin runs their offense fluidly ( if he was allowed to ) thus he is the brains of the team..

Its because he feels LIN's is a limited player.
He doesnt want Lin to create his own shots, doing so will just promote turnovers. Also doesnt think Lin should dribble too much to try and create shots for other players. His usage should not be as high as Harden or Parsons. Mchale just wants Lin to swing the ball and shoot when he's open.

I know Lin fans want him to do more and reach for the ceiling but that won't happen with Mchale as coach.

The next coach will get crucified regardless.

First everyone was happy McHale was gone and Sampson took over. Then, people wanted McHale back and Samspon gone. Now, they want McHale gone again.

Some call it wandering, others call it shading away from his matchup to get out on the fastbreak.

Harden is just bad for most of the game on defense. When you let guys drive right by you and leave shooters wide open it doesn't matter if it's the 4th quarter or the 1st quarter that's bad defense.

If Harden doesn't want to take charges on a 3 on 1 fast break that's fine but being an elite scorer while being bad on defense is what's keeping him from being that top tier superstar (ie Kobe, Lebron, Durant, Wade) which I think he's capable

This is just how NBA coaches are percieved all accross the NBA by the fans and the media. They are easy targets to throws darts at one minute, and then glorify the next.

Case in point: Vinny Del Negro... easily percieved as one of the worst coaches in the past few seasons, and it was hard to say his name without letting out a little chuckle. Now, the other night I actually heard someone one NBATV claim that he might even be a candidate for COY.

Avery Johnson was COY for the Mavericks when they had it rolling a few years ago, and the next season cruicified as if he was their main cause of failure in the playoffs.

Please, not many opposing SGs outscore Harden is not exactly reflecting Harden's defensive ability, it's because of the declining quality offensive talent at that position and not many teams use their SG as their No 1 option as we do. Giving up 25 points to the likes of Sefolosha, Danny Green, Ariza (like Harden did many times this season already) cannot be put in the same context as giving up 25 points to Kobe, you know as the former is worse than later.

Not to bash Harden as we all know his limit. But let's be fair.

I replied to the poster that said the player Harden guards (almost always a SG) scores 25 + points while Harden scores 30. I called that out as a LIE becuase the stats say otherwise.

    Ha, Ha, Ha.

You do know this is from NY Daily News right?

Just because they published the day after Nets game, does not mean McHale said anything after that game. In fact, the only part of McHale said is the Lin is Homerun hit and It is better to be leading hitter than try to hit home run and get stike out. In other word, he wants him to set up the plate than clean up the base.

It is not even said after the OKC game. The rather have 29 points and nine turn over is not there in that discussion. When the interview comes out, I think it does create some disturbance. I think it is before the ASG. If you search this forum, you maybe able to find when the interview happens.

nba.com usually has all the interview after the games. You can also look at these interviews and listen to whatever he said to even match that.

NY news medium sometimes is quite exiting.

OT but might be related: Does anyone think they're telling Asik not to challenge shots as much as he used to, to conserve energy or stay out of foul trouble?

Yes, Kobe and Wade used to play elite D when they were winning championships.

Kobe was 10+ times all defensive team, you know. And he's not just got on there only because of his reputation.

You think Harden will be ever on all defensive team in his career?

So if you don't care, why post so many times here and calling people names. Why care that his fans care? Why you have to tell anyone who they can be fans of?

This is all because of Lin. Both dont think highly of him.

McHale on the signing of Harden:

Houston Coach Kevin McHale has reportedly said that he “Finally has a guard that he likes.”

I think that poster just exaggerated to make a point. I got his point though. Harden did usually give up a lot of points to the man (usually the worst offensive perimeter player on the opposing team) he defended. Might not be 25+ points, yes, less than Harden himself scored, yes, but always giving up opposing team's non-scorers/4th-5th options way more than their season average, often season/career high is simply not good.
