Well for one, the reporters reputation is at stake. Sure made up quote happens, but its the exception. So I would rather believe the norm rather than the anomaly.

McHale always rambles nonsense stuff....never heard anything good about Lin thus far except..."he'll be fine...". However, this doesn't mean they have a good relationship...neither the press or Clutchfans members live and breath with the team.

it may not be a made up completely, but a summarized quote taken out of context. Fox news does it all the time dude.

Read your own post again where you quoted my words, buddy. I didn't confirm McHale said that. Instead I have "if McHale did say that".

I love Lin's style of play. I wouldn't make it a fuss to do all that plotting if this thread wasn't 22 pages long and going.

There may be some truth in the quote. I mean Mchale really did say that.
Remember Lin used to get benched every time he was hot and scoring, especially in the first quarter of the games.

Right on, his post game interview after the thunder win is very telling on how he feels about Lin

Yes they do, I just don't see what the context could be before or after "Lin would rather score 29 points and have 9 TOs" anyway, it is very telling that he brought up lin trying to score 29 points regardless of the context.

    Are u being willfully ignorant?

McHale on Lin: "Jeremy's becoming a better pt gd all the time. I couldn't be happier with him."

Lin has said McHale is more than a coach to him. Also "But it just seemed too good to be true. Like, the coach actually cared about what plays I enjoy running, or that the coach would text me on a day off to see how I was feeling. That type of stuff was too good to be true."

The have a great relation. When McHale came back from his leave of absence one of the first things he said was Lin needs to run the offense more.

Can you explain how a third rate reporter at a rag daily actually got that quote when no one else did? And nobody, not even RealGM, Hoopshype or any other "sensationalist" sports media outlets even picked it up. Accepting as truth statements on the internet is a not in anyone's best interest. Accepting as true a quote from that source is just ignorant.

TOs are of course bad but often times they occur when a player is being aggressive. Lin tends to be more effective when he's aggressive with the ball. That often results in him getting into the lane but also often results in more TOs.

Ny daily news quoted it too, not saying much but still. Look no point in going back and forth. Unless mchale denies the quote, it's out there.

No just you perhaps. And like I said none of us live and breath with the team so we ALL have no clue as true the true relationship between McHail and Lin. If you have a link to that one vid...that may be the first.

So jeremy enjoys hanging out at the baseline corner and mchale is only too happy to oblige?

The New York Daily News is the only source that quoted McHale other than some very odd sites that I would not want to browse to. They are the rag's rag that I have been referring to.

Shane Battier sure didn't mind doing what it takes to help the team win, and he excelled at standing in the corner.

Guess what, he is also one of the most valuable role players the Rockets ever had, and a crucial role player for the Heat as well.

I don't get this mentality that it's somehow shameful for Lin to specialize in certain roles like spot up shooting.

the quote could have gone like, "Sometimes jeremy worries about having to score 29 points to help the team out and I told him that we are just here to win." -As in he he can be effective without scoring a bunch, probably ot boost his confidence. The message intending to do the exact opposite of what many people are b****ing about on here.
