It's not that I don't expect much from him, it's that I don't care so long as the team wins. I could not care less if he scores 40 a game or 5 a game so long as the team does well.

I am actually cool with that...that you don't expect too much from Jlin as long as we are winning.

I am glad and hope that there are more posters like you and Bobby.

I was around during the Yao Ming hype year.

I don't think it was nearly as bad as the brainwashed "Jeremy Lin is Michael Jordan" fans.

I feel bad for Jlin, especially for having to have these fans that don't want him to succeed in the way he most likely wants to succeed. By all accounts, Jeremy wants to win and make his team better. That is his definition of success on the court. His fans want him to score 20 a game without a shot-limit, without concern for turnovers, without concern for including his teammates in the offense.

    Yuck.

    GO JEREMY LIN

Can I get other '99ers to agree?

Sad thing is...they've probably checked out of this thread.

So, for newbies...the success of Jeremy Lin is our future...just like Harden. I don't want to trade him

No one knows exactly what McHale's reasoning is for treating players differently. Players respond differently to methods of coaching. All of us are just speculating on extremely little info here and there.

Now here I don't agree. Both Magic Johnson and Mark Cuban have said that Lin can be the next Steve Nash. Jason Kidd and Tony Parker have said that Lin is a lot like them when young and has shown the ability and potential to become what they have become.

Lin has been compared to Parker, Nash, and another great Pg (can't remember the name) so far but ive never heard anyone compare him to Jordan. I've heard Harden compared to Jordan, but not Lin

I wrote that as more of the platform they place him on, in terms of greatness, and it's not even close.

But do you ever read the game threads? Very few posters think like you do.

Well you don't want the guy to be a negative on the floor and actually impact the game for sure. Still winning is the most important thing.

Disagree. Deferring only works when you have a team with quality players like Miami, or Boston when they had their big 3. Deferring to role players is asking to lose the game. Plus Lin doesn't have the passing skills of Rajon rondo who averages 10+ assists a game, he needs to score to get other players going.

13-5 when Lin scores 15+ points. 18-22 when he scores less, and its not like he's jacking up shots in those losses either, he's averaging 9.25 attempts per game. That should tell you all you need to know.

My goodness. Only moments ago I thought everything you said was unreadable gobbledygook, but now I agree with everything you say. It's your posts used to all be ROT13. Amazing difference.

So we have a 17 page thread with over 330 replies simply because McHale used some exaggeration to make a point about Jeremy Lin's play. What an unadulterated waste of everyone's time, the bandwidth of ClutchFans, and the invention of the internet. Get a grip, people.

Look at these two, what in the name of James Harden are they talking about?

Perfect example of overdramatic posters bashing the newbs for literally no reason in this post.
Codman & Bobby, there was hardly an argument between your made up little cliques and yet you still dragged it in here. Stop taking every little disagreement between vets and 2012s to whine about "LOFs", that crap is so 2 months ago.
