I'm a bit puzzled by McHale's comments on Lin's TOs. Morey once explained that there are good TOs and there are bad TOs. The ones that resulting from drive-and-attack-the-rim, from the full-court long passes are good TOs that usually reflects PG's attacking mode and high-risk high reward plays. The only bad TOs are those stripped ball, lost dribble, intercepted passes at half court.

As a coach, McHale should know better that his PG, both Lin and Harden's attacking style will result in a bit more of good TOs (and let's not forget that some of the attacking TOs are not even TOs due to the official's no calls on obviously fouls). Lumping all the TOs and even exaggerating the numbers (did Lin ever get 9 Tos in a game this season?) would only make people wonder if McHale truly trusts his PG.

The whole team turns the ball over so I don't know where McHale gets off singling out one player.

Harden is the star and is naturally excluded from this kind of talk but everytime Delfino dribbles the ball into the paint it seems to result in a turnover. Or Parsons with his high dribbling. Coach needs to shut it.

In all honesty, I think I would have just retired by now if I were Jeremy. He will always be seen as a dollar sign rather than an actual player, and coaches will always resent him because they're forced to play him to keep the dough flowing from overseas. He's already made a pretty penny, he should quit before he inevitably suffers the bad fall after an +1.

Oh it was Harden that almost cost us the game against the Nets?

It's frankly pretty annoying how often Harden gets dragged into Lin drama. Some of you guys just can't wait to take shots at him.

I wod rather see Lin score 29 and win McHale because that is what happened. When you are truly playing to win you deal in actuality not hypotheticals.

you imbeciles....jeremy that game had 29 points and
TWO turnovers. and besides mchale was exaggerating to ill effect. jeremy has never had 9 turnovers. he may as well have said jeremy is happy getting 50 points and 20 turnovers. it's a poor coach that says that to the media. mchale has never taken personal responsibility for ANY poor performance by his team EVER. and that should tell you something. he was no good as a coach in minnesota and no good here.

He's been told by his own head coach his whole life that he wasn't good enough?

Given the source, I question both the quote and the lack of context. Go look at the original ny daily news article and you can see it is a dig at jeremy lin, place intentionally directly at the end of the article.

But that said, McHale yelling at Jeremy bugs me. I think, except for a small minority of players, it is a crappy coaching technique. A boss who can think of nothing but to yell at you in sports is no better than one who does that in an office. I.E not doing his job right.

Then how do you explain Lin's playing under D'Antoni? I miss that Lin so much!

Lol I know right. Some of those haters are being way too obvious and way too dumb that they don't even realise they are being haters.

You are totally missing the point and misinterpreting what he is saying. He was just mentioning accountability. Even though Harden is the superstar, shouldn't he be held accountable by the coach and by the fans also?

If that was just it, that would be fine and innocuous. But that is not the quote that was sourced for this thread. This was said:

“Sometimes he’d rather have 29 points and nine turnovers and I tell him, ‘Jeremy, we’re trying to win,’ ”

    1) "He'd rather have 29 points" - This suggest that Lin is a selfish player which seems to be the furthest thing from the truth given his play and his persona.

    2) "and (he'd rather have) nine turnovers" - Who rather have turnovers than winning?

This doesn't seem like constructive criticism. This appears to be a very poorly thought out statement. Now if a coach said this to the JR Smith it would be more credible - and even then it's not something that should be said publicly IMO, because it seems to question someone's character.

I love Harden, I just used that as an example of Lin always got the blame but not Harden or Parsons for that matter.

Half of Lin's turnovers this year are because of Asik's stone hands not being able to catch easy passes.

Page 2, look there. McFail mentions Greg Smith played well and the only thing he said about Lin all interview is he made couple of big shots. That's it.

Look at all these LOF with pre-2012 join dates. We have to put a ban on time machines.
