That's fair and I agree with you.

But that goes back to the point I was trying to make. If he's going to play, and he's able to play, then certain standards must be held for our starting point guard. Being sick does not give you a pass to trot out and deliver a garbage performance.

Pretty much. He was bringing the ball up as slow as he could.

the lead went away because harden and delfino made some stupid turnovers, it had nothing to do with lin.

It's a bigger fault to use a player's performance in one game to judge his potential over the long run. Before the game, on NBAtv, Dennis Scott and Rick Fox compared Lin's averages over his first 82 games to the elite PGs first 82 games - Rondo, Paul, Parker, etc. I think there were 5 elite PGs they compared him to. Lin's averages are right up there with 3 of them, and better than Parker's and another one (I can't remember which).

It doesn't mean Lin will end up an elite PG like one of those guys, because a player's development over the long term can depend on those surrounding him and how they help him to flourish. Parker thinks Lin is very similar to him during his first several years in the league. I remember watching some of those games. Parker was worse than Lin is now. Horrible playing making and horrible shooting. Parker STILL does not have a decent 3 pointer.

Does this mean Lin will surpass Parker down the road? No. He doesn't have a Duncan or Ginoble on the team, and plays in a MUCH different role than the one Parker was put into. But I think Houston's management saw in Lin what the Spurs management saw in Parker, and is willing to give him a shot.

The dumbest thing you can do as a Houston fan is to diss him because you can't see pass one "bad" game, which even elite PGs can have.

I am willing to chalk this one up to the trade. But we will be remembering this loss for a long time as the Lakers and Mavs threaten to overtake us.

Harden took a very unwise 3 with about 51 seconds left. I felt the game was over then.

Not sure if you are serious. He's quoting from McHale. You know, the head coach of Houston Rockets?

Are you serious...? Ever since Douglas left we only have TWO point guards and tell me you want to see beverly for the whole 48 minutes.. He's sick, he played bad, get over it. There's no standard to be held or anything, be happy he actually step in and play.

Forreal man get out of here with that garbage. When you've catch the flu I'd like to see you or ANYBODY go out and do better then their average.

We are already short handed... who should we play then? Bev can't play 48 minutes at this point...

That would certainly explain a lot.

I mean, it would certainly explain why McHale is so grumpy all the time, if he was made to run that r****ded iso-initiated offense by management. I mean, it boggles the mind that the Rockets can go 3.5 quarters without a screen for their PG when McHale is known as a PnR offense coach. It's like the Rockets is two different teams depending on whether they are running that r****ded iso-initiated offense.

I know Finch is supposed to be hand-groomed by management to implement what they want, but if that is the offense the management wants to run, then I do not have high hopes for this team when McHale leaves.

Nice move, coach! If Lin has a cold, the decision to put him in for Beverly becomes even more brilliant.

...I'm still steaming. For a team fighting for a playoff spot losing to teams like this is just unacceptable. And it should definitely not happen multiple times in span of a couple of weeks!
