In these past few games, especially this one, he's no longer showing a lot of the awkwardness I saw earlier in the season. It's so awesome to see improvement from the youngsters. This guy oozes with potential.
Looked very good to me. I've liked him since I saw him #2 on draft boards behind John Wall way back. Easy guy to root for too, his passion for the game really showed tonight.
You have to invest playing time on the young guys for them to develop. Jeremy Lin played horribly but because of the time invested in him he has given solid returns. If he was benched after every error it would only shatter his confidence. Some say Dmo doesn't play good defense, but how worse can he be than Delfino playing defense against taller power forwards?
Lin isn't the only young PG with potential on this team. When he's playing like hammered dog crap.. like he did tonight, you bench him. Especially when he's playing like a scared little girl.
He could have been doing this all season. I witnessed him in the summer league destroy guys who are regular rotation players for teams like Myers Leonard.
Does everyone now see why he wasn't playing the first half of the season? You think anyone would have wanted to even give a second rounder for Morris, and give up the #5 pick in last years draft for 2Pat if D-Mo was playing ahead of these guys. Sacramento would have said, no D-Mo, no Deal-O.
Well, D-Mo had his best game in the NBA tonight. Even defensively he held his own. A line of 11/6/2 with no turnovers in 23 minutes against a big front line gives me hope that he will be the starting power forward in the next week. Watching him tonight he seems to have the mind set of a great rebounder. As soon as he sees that a shot is going up on the offensive end he is diving into the paint from the 3 point line, looking for that rebound. Of course it helps that he is fast enough then to get back defensively with the opponents PF. His focus on the defensive side seems impressive. He seemed to always be in the correct position, and willing to provide weak side help. He obviously could use more experience at the NBA level, but when he plays this tuned in he is not a detriment certainly.
Asik, Harden, Chandler are all good rebounders from their position too, so it's great that we have another person to crash the boards hard.
His offense is really, really impressive. The potential is there. He just needs to put on some weight so he can defend the bigger PFs/Cs.
He looked great tonight. He seems much more comfortable now. He brings so much energy to the team and is quick to pick and roll and get the offense initiated early in the possession. I really hope he steals that starting spot. He doesn't seem to block out well though when looking for a rebound. I think overall He is looking pretty good now and looks to only get better with more consistent minutes and coaching.
