Are you guys aware of any sites that I can find this info? My neighbor claims he never drew a charge this entire season. I watch most games and don't remember seeing this. Does anyone know?
Hardn needs to get the hell out of the way if a guys flying at him. I don't need him to earn his mancard and take the hit. If he got injured, the seasons over. OVAH!!
More evidence that he's not a legitimate #1 option EDIT: btw, since that ridiculous thread James has averaged 28.0/5.9/6.5 on .509/.474/.871 shooting
http://www.hoopdata.com/defrebstats.aspx?team=HOU&type=tot&posi=%&yr=2013&gp=40&mins=20 He's drawn 8 charges this year, or at least I think CHG's mean charges drawn...but Battier was a leader chg/game in the 08/09 so I'm pretty sure that's it.
I think a leader should lead by example and as everyone says, defense wins championships. Harden is still young and learning so if it is true that he hasnt taken a charge, I hope he can improve on this and improve his overall defense. Alot of the greats win players like Jordan, Pippen, Kobe, Lebron play both offense and defense so we will be a great shape once Harden develops this part of his game
Or he can learn from Kobe. "We got a couple guys that take charges, but for the most part, the one guy that took a charge is now playing in Oklahoma," Bryant said after practice Tuesday, referring to Derek Fisher. "I don't take charges. Metta [World Peace] don't take charges. Steve [Blake] will take a charge every now and then, but most everybody else just stands up and plays." "I learned from my predecessors," Bryant said. "[Scottie] Pippen had a [messed] up back taking charges. [Larry] Bird had a [messed] up back taking charges. I said, 'I'm not taking charges.' I figured that ... out at an early age." http://espn.go.com/los-angeles/nba/story/_/id/7935166/2012-nba-playoffs-los-angeles-lakers-kobe-bryant-cites-injury-risk-drawing-charges
Those guys you mentiond don't take charges either. Charges are a lo reward high risk defensive manuever. More often than not the call will go against the defender. I don't want harden risking injury to himself on a passive play that has a 40% success rate. Its just not smart. Yao used to do this all the time and I pulled my hair out whenever he tried to take a charge instead of being aggressive on defense.
don't want Harden to take charges but do want Harden to play better defense. and they should reward players for charges taken. it should be one of the top stats like blocks and steals.
