I seen Thomas Robinson shoot really well in draft workout..not sure why he's struggling w/ the Kings. Hopefully he play better under a winning environment.

I see him jumping right in with 12-15 mpg, and starting within a week or so since Delfino is so valuable off the bench.

T Rob will be the 3rd guy on the Rockets' to not compete in the Rising Stars game his rookie year, but make it his 2nd year.(Parsons/Lin)

After being seasoned by the Houston Rockets, I do believe that we'll see him in the Rising Stars, representing the Rockets for the Sophomore Team.

I may be overhyping T-Rob but I do like his averaged numbers when he was playing in Sacramento, in limited minutes. I do believe D.Morey liked those stats as well, thus, trading for him for that AND the fact that he was a Top-5 Pick.

If he survives Morey's offseason moves and the subsequent trade deadline he might start seeing time on the floor this time next year.

I think any rookie post player is going to struggle on defense initially.

Here's some food for thought: Donatas Motiejunas, at age 22, is our 2nd oldest post player after Asik.

With regard to Jones, his motor doesn't always run on high -- which I think is a lot of what separated him and Robinson in the draft.

I'm looking for the Rockets to use Motiejunas as a backup 5 a bit more to get Robinson on the court. My sense is that Robinson is a better rebounder on both sides of the court than Greg Smith, and can potentially fill the same role rolling to the basket. Using DMo at the 5 compensates for Robinson's lack of outside shot.

As an aside, I went and looked at what Robinson did in the summer league, to get a sense of how he fared with consistent minutes against NBA competition. See: http://www.nba.com/summer-league/2012/players/sl_thomas_robinson/index.html

    The bad:
    --His FG% was a putrid 34.4%
--He averaged nearly 5 fouls and 5 turnovers in 30 minutes a game

    The good:
-- He got to the FT line. He averaged nearly 8 FTA/game (though he only converted 54%). That included games of 13 and 15 FTA.
--He rebounded pretty well. Just under 10 boards/game, including a 16 rebound performance to close the summer league
--Willing team player. He put up 3+ assists in 4 out of 5 games, which is excellent for a PF.

Overall, he really needs to figure out how to finish better. Hopefully he makes that leap between years 1 and 2.

Idk man, Mchale likes guys that hustle no matter the experience. I think he can get some burn sooner than that.

Glad to hear it, I'd heard he couldn't post up.

Agreed. Greg Smith could be logging heavy back-up minutes if he consistently hustled. Robinson is going to earn some time purely by being active and aggressive.

Somewhat of a sidenote: I can't think of a better big man (including Dream) to learn how to score in the post from than McHale

I think Greg Smith gets moved in the offseason because I completely agree than Robinson will probably be able to do everything tht Greg Smith does, but better. I alo expect tht we'll find a true backup center to Asik, which Greg smith is not. His $800,000 contract next year is sure to entice a cap strapped team. I think next year is all about DMo and TRob, with Jones finding his way on the court in limited minutes, assuming he's even still on the team.

His rebound rate is over double what PPat and Morris' was. And his offensive rebound rate is equivalent to Omer. Also, we all know he is aggressive to the bucket. His ability to draw fouls because of his aggression is twice what Patterson and Morris is. He's not a great free throw shooter but if used early in quarters, he can help us get in the bonus quickly so Harden can keep knocking 'em down. This kid really should get rotation minutes asap.

He will fit in great because he is exactly what we needed. He is a traditional POWER forward that plays above the rim, developing a low post game, and gives us more help on the boards. If he can come in as a starter and give us 15ppg 8rbs and 1 blk, Houston will be contenders. Also hoping Parsons can develop into the second scorer on the team but I notice he doesn't create a mismatch

KMac's impact on Omer is noticeable. I've noticed his footwork is tremendously better than at the beginning of the season. Can't wait to see what T-Rob can do.

Wouldn't it be something if Morey parlayed an undrafted player into a draft pick?
