I don't think he'll start but I think he'll def being playing around 20 min a night he does what the rockets need most in the 2nd unit when asik goes out which is rebound th basketball. Also Im not sure what to think about tjones I feel bad for him obviously he's not as good/ready as ppl here think because he's not getting any minutes and hasn't even been mentioned. In Moreys Press conference yesterday he failed to mention him only talked about Trob dmo and smith. With that said I'd like to see him get a chance but just don't see it happening this yr he must be having a had time understanding our offense and defensive plays. I also think Trob is more ready to play than alot here think he does. The kings suck ad have one of the ugliest offenses i have ever seen from a pro team. They have no spacing what so ever. Now the rockets do and should give Robinson in his limited touches to make quick moves in one on one situations with open space were he can use his speed and athletism. He also has a nice drop step spin move that is damn good. Plus his handles are better than ppl think. I like this move alot his game fits what our pf needs to do plus has Allstar potential.
Looks like the "McHale isn't starting a rookie" prediction are likely to be true for a while. We'll probably start the Deflino-Parsons at 3 and 4 like tonight for quite some time. Montejunas, Ross and Robinson will fight for backup minutes, not the starting position.
no real need. Vipers have 19 games Might as well sit on the bench and study plays as teams play harder towards playoffs
Not likely going to Vipers, I say he start playing some minutes after next game which will be the Wednesday.
I'd like to see him get some time but probably after the road trip and after they can get a home practice in.
Right now the rotation is this C - Asik PF - Parsons (or Delfino) 3rd big (15-20 min) - C Smith/PF Donuts 4th big (10-15 min) - C Smith/PF Donuts When Robinson joins, I expect him to be put in as the 4th big, for experimentation's sake. Smith is currently getting more PT than Motiejunas, but with the way Donuts is playing, I think he's going to move into the 3rd big role, making Smith the odd man out...UNLESS McHale goes back to starting one of them at the 4 and shifting Delfino back to the bench. This would seemingly make the most sense, but I don't think it's likely.
T-Robb is more seasoned than D-Mo and Greg Smith. He's also averaging 11 points and 7.4 rebounds in his last 7 games that he got at least 20 minutes of playing time. He was the 5th overall pick, can already rebound and hustle at a high level, has a great NBA body. Even if he is raw, he needs to play especially since we are so thin at the 4, we cannot keep starting Delfino or Parsons at the 4 in the long run. If he gets sent down, I don't expect him to be in the D-League for more than a couple of games.
I don't think they will go with this lineup for long. Delfino is good coming off the bench and is willing to. They were willing to let Marcus start and I'm sure they will let D-mo or Robinson start before the year ends. As for Ross, we just don't have much room for him. Sure he can dunk and he did win that slam dunk contest but I'd rather have Delfino backup harden than him.
“It will be fun,” said McHale. “Molding (a player) comes a lot in the summer and comes at different times. Right now we’ve just got to get him comfortable with what we’re doing and there won’t be much molding; it will mostly rebounding and running the simple, basic stuff. Then when we have the chance to work with him in the summer, we’ll work with him. “For him right now, any young guy, you’ve got to find out what you do well. For him I would say offensive rebounding – that’s what I’ve seen him do in this league. I’ve seen him run real aggressively. So if he can add defense to that then he’s going to find a way on the floor. If you offensive rebound and you run hard and you can defend, then you can play out there. So that’s what he’s got to do right now. We’ll worry about the rest of that stuff later.” http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/delfino-divine-rockets-cut-down-nets-once-again
