Bong do you not consider a starting Center and Starting PF key pieces? Not just any key pieces but top 1-3 in their respective positions in the whole league? Add to the fact how often do these type of key pieces become available? They don't .... This is such a rare opportunity that the Rockets somehow was lucky enough to come across.

The Rockets are legitimately a destination that intrigues Quality, Star, Tier 1 players.. We all can thank Harden for that.

Again pieces like Howard and Smith do not become available often and I do not see a combo like this tome come in the next 10 years.

I hope DH just signs with the Lakers and get it over with. Enough with this drama king. As for JSmith the Rockets can just sign him without losing anyone.

We would be screwed when once the Dwightmare started and he starts b****ing and whining all the time.

Basketball wise, I feel the skillsets of Smith and Howard are overlap. If we sign DH, I think we need a four who can space the floor, which isn't too hard to find these days.

I'd prefer a SnT with the Hawks for Smith instead of the Lakers with Howard. Hawks are gonna have a ton of money to spend, and they can finally move Horford back to the 4 if they get Asik. Asik plus fillers for Smith. Sign Howard outright. Lakers get NOTHING!

The Lakers were the #3 seed in the West last year without Dwight. They are currently a lottery bound team with him. So can someone please tell me why on God's green Earth would we want to bring him here??????

Anyone who doesn't want Dwight is insane. Asik is great and all, but at the end of the day Dwight is the best in the game. The drama that's come from him is mainly about A) his contract and B) Kobe. If he signed with us long term all of that will go away. We've seen how well harden can mesh with other superstars, an when he wasn't up for a new contract and winning in Orlando he had no issues at all.

Sign Dwight, sign and trade josh smith for asik and fillers, and be one of the best teams in the league for 5 years. End of story

It's not about drama, its about his health, Howard may not be the same after inuries to his spine and his shoulder. Also, he ran SVG out of town...that has nothing to do with his contract at all.

Also wtf is wrong with the OP and you, you can't have Harden, Dwight and Josh Smith all on the team and fit them all in the cap, why do you think LBJ, Bosh and Wade decided to take a pay cut when they got together. This is 1 star for pure ignorance, seriously posters who post threads like this should be rookied, no point at all and they just push other discussion worthy threads down.

I completely understand the rarity of having 3 top-tier players in one team. But that has to cost you something for example cap space, flexibility, etc.
My view towards this might be slanted by the history of teams that have 3 superstars to only come up short because they did not have a good second unit.

Our defense would be pretty freaking sick, but man the offense could be ugly too. Dwight and Josh would have to take a back seat to Harden on offense. If they think they need their touches then we could have a huge crybaby diva situation.

It's not likely to be *that* much higher, if it all. We wont know for sure till July 8th.

I'd be surprised if it rises more than 2-4M.
