Provided they hold onto Paul, I pick A. He's the best player.

And besides, we all know Stern rigged the draft so Cleveland would get the #1 pick regardless :p

    HYPHOTHETICALS:
    1) If the Clippers already had Kyrie Irving/ Eric Gordon, would they trade them for Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups?

    2) If you had Paul/Billups, would you trade them for Irving/Gordon?

Clippers did trade Gordon, Kaman & Aminu for Paul. Young talent and proven vet for superstar. So its POSSIBLE they would still deal Irving/Gordon for CP3/Billups.

Clippers with Irving and Gordon would still have Aminu and Kaman on the roster, so it'd still be a deep team.

Me, I'd probably lean toward having Chris Paul. He's the BEST point guard in the game still in his prime, complete player. And maximizes the talents of Griffin and everyone else better than Irving. But then its like asking if you'd trade James Harden and Jeremy Lin for CP3/Billups. Thats when you have "youth movement" considerations. It just depends on if you want to contend NOW or contend LATER.

Lesson is, this is why its good to have LOTTERY PICK TALENT.

Who says the Clips get that pick? The lottery is obv rigged and Cleveland was getting it for losing Lebron anyways.

    Choice A every single time.

Have you watched Chris Paul play? The guy is PHENOMENAL. Easily the best PG in the league. Doesn't hurt that he is leading the league in steals as well.

CP3 is the best PG in the NBA period and I would take him over any PG right now.

I think people are underestimating CP3's impact as a floor general on the current Clippers team

how about Chris Paul AND keep Kyrie as an asset. You'd still find a way to give him 30 minutes, a few minutes with CP3, all the backup point guard minutes, most of Crawford minutes, some games CP3 will miss altogether...

Then trade Kyrie for.... really, who's NOT available? They could've traded Kyrie and DeAndre to Orlando for Dwight - easily. Or to OKC for Harden straight up. Paul George? Marc Gasol+Conley for Kyrie+DeAndre in a Grizzlies salary cut?

I mean, it's just fun to think of all the possibilities... that they've missed.

Does that mean Orlando is getting the #1 pick this year?

Chris Paul not only brings his basketball skills and talent but his leadership, winning attitude and a complete change of culture to the Clippers. He also attacts and brings in other players. If the Clippers had Irving, those ring chasers like Crawford and Grant Hill would never sign with them. And they likely would continue to be a bottom feeder and talent farm team like the old Clippers or the current Cavs.

I think you need someone like CP3 to change the culture. You need his mentality.

But in terms of raw talent, I can definitely see the argument for Irving, Gordon and Blake together. Especially long term.

I think you had the wrong thinking. Good players make good teams. The Clippers were bad before Paul. The Hornets were bad before Paul and bad after Paul. Paul makes his team good, he doesn't need to be given a good team, unlike Irving.

There's not a GM who wouldn't take CP3. Take the Top 3 player every time.

Yeah Paul even makes VDN a coach of the year challenger and the Clippers the hotter ticket of LA. No small feat.

CP3 is in his prime. Even the Hornets teams had way more talent than Cleveland. Irving has absolutely no one around him. You can't really compare the situations.

The Hornets were a lottery team before Paul and Paul made them a playoffs team in his 2nd year, not in his prime.

Kyrie and Paul are simply not remotely comparable players in terms of impact right now, and I'm not sure Kyrie will ever reach Paul's level. Kyrie's an amazing young talent, but there's a lot more to the game than raw numbers and flashy moves.

For right now, team A... But in 2/3 years when Kyrie is a top 4 player in the league and best PG in the league, I'd take team B

CP3 is the best point guard since Magic I doubt Kyrie will ever be as good as him.

Paul will also be the best point guard for at least next 5 years, probably even longer.
