Hopefully people really begin to understand the amount of preparedness and LUCK it takes to land a star. Perhaps people will understand why Les was so unwillingly to part with a centerpiece center who would give 100% no matter what, Lastly, in hindsight everything worked out in the getting a bonafide superstar. So in conclusion, I disagree with your statement about "no amount success this season". We got ours and we got a smart organization (not to be confused with mistake free because those don't exist) that is setup for the future that will once again rely on preparedness and LUCK.
Fell into his lap? No sorry. Once Yao was over with every move Morey made was in order to get the combination of assets and picks to get land a chance at a superstar. So Harden falling in anyone's lap is grossly inaccurate account of what happened. We had the right combination of assets (KMart to help right away, a young SG prospect and picks for the future) that looked good OKC at the time.
Yao was done in Summer 2009, but it took the Rox two more years of mediocrity to acknowledge that reality.
Ok.... so again. We got Harden, what's the big deal? Mediocrity it turns out was much better than tanking in our case as hindsight proves.....
I was never was a pro tanker which everyone was. I like how everyone wants to jump on his dick when we didn't do jack **** in the trade line. I never liked Patterson or Morris and now they're both gone. Good
It's your right to think that the team's revamp didn't start until 2011-2012, but in that case I reckon you should be pretty impressed by how quickly and thoroughly they were revamped. Turning mediocre remnants from the shattered Yao era into the current product is pretty epic if you believe nothing in the previous seasons set it up.
Sorry getting a superstar isn't always an easy and quick process? Morey traded for a 23 year old SG who looks to be the part of superstar that this team has needed this last offseason.... Morey increased our cap room slightly while adding the 5th pick (who he reportedly wanted previously) by getting rid of two players who don't fit into the long term plans of the team. this trade deadline...And you are surprised people support him?
