    Big difference is D-Mo and Jones have been practicing with the team and are more familiar with the system right now

    His defense is good, but it isn't elite. He isn't a paint protector like Howard.

    His offense is also subpar, shooting a mere 48.5% in terms of TS, which is way below league average. The Rockets need someone who could create their own shot effectively, not a volume shooter like Smith. (He averages 16.9 points a game on 15.7 shots)

    Point is, Josh Smith is a good player who will help you win games and even playoff games, but he isn't the player you should spend your cap space on because he won't get you a championship.

    Some of Morey's finest work is in the deals he doesn't make. He's got his eye on putting us in a great position to pick up someone big this summer and/or next. You think this is a fun team to watch THIS year? Just wait.

    I would think that Thomas Robinson would get a lot of Viper time and a lot of big man coaching by the Rockets during the off-season and training camp.

    He lead the league in defensive win shares last year. John Smith last year is pretty much this year's Dwight Howard.

    So you're saying he'd go with the player who has the most experience?

    Robinson: rookie with 809 minutes PT in the NBA.
    Jones: rookie with 91 minutes PT in the NBA.
    D-Mo: rookie with 81 minutes PT in the NBA.

    Robinson has roughly 4 times the experience as the other two guys combined.

    That was last season.

    This season he has dropped to 11, and for comparisons' sake Rudy Gay is at 12 and Boozer is at 17.
