Obviously, he'd never get traded. But, with the deadline here I found myself wondering what exactly fair value is for the best player in the league, assuming that he's being traded for fair value.

My guess? Lebron would warrant something crazy, like two or three top ten picks, and probably a 2nd tier all-star, like a Joe Johnson or Paul George, and the buyer would have to take back a bad contract.

What do you think his price tag would be? What about Durant? Or Rose?

    The Universe.

What you described is not even close. It's more like 2 top 10 players.

Technically he already has been traded. He was Traded to the Heat from the Cavs for.

●Two first-round picks, that must be used starting in 2013 and ending by 2017
●2012 second-round pick Miami received from New Orleans
●Future second-round pick Heat acquired from Oklahoma City
●Cleveland can also swap first round picks with the Heat in 2012
●A large trade exception($15 million or so) that the Cavs must use in trades for one calendar year.

Think about MJ in his prime what would you have traded for him?

This is pretty much the question you're asking.

    Pretty much.
