Rockets trade Terrance Jones, Robinson, pick, and throw in Delfino for Josh Smith. Book it.

We'll trade Terrence Jones for Richard Hamilton and a first round pick. And we'll trade Thomas Robinson for Paul Millsap, MAYBE!!

Who do they expect to just take Rip off their hands with no incentive? Morey is going to go in dry on them.

Only a contender (like the Spurs) that need a shooter would even consider, but the contract amount is decently hefty if you do not have cap space, so nobody will give them anything of value.
The more time that passes, the better. Chicago has a desperate need to get under the luxury tax line and we're just waiting for them to call back.

So why exactly would a team take on a $5 million contract plus $1 million guarenteed for next year?

I could still go for Mirotic or the Bulls Lottery protected 1st if they won't give up the Bobcats pick (understandable).

Isn't the normal price for major salary relief a draft pick of some sort? Surely CHI is just posturing.

But what expirings do we have left now that would still keep our cap room for a max deal for this upcoming free agency?

That's a no no. Remember that we're doing the Bulls a favor by absorbing Hamilton's contract so they would get under the tax threshold. We won't by any means, give them something of value to us.

They would actually do something like Honeycutt for Hamilton and a 2nd rd pick but i'm pretty sure Morey wants a future 1st rd pick instead.

Does Morey even want a 2013 1st pick if it eats into their cap space.

There was a report earlier saying they weren't inclined on giving a 1st rd pick for any deal to dump Hamilton's salary. Not sure they would be able to find a taker to be honest.
