I read somewhere that this deadline is the last chance for BKN to get Dwight. However, I agree with you that Dwight leaving LA is very unlikely.

If robinson isnt a part of the deal, neither parsons or asik (and oviously lin and harden) jump on it, delfino, jones, smith, motiejunas - there pick of 2-3 of them and picks

garcia takes delfino's role, smith can play some 3
TRob backs up smith and asik, backorts the same, lin, beverley, harden, anderson and honeycutt

    I don't think that's it....

I'm pretty sure it's an asset reluctancy from everyone here. Why give anything of value up when you can have him for straight cash homie! in free agency.

    See my post below:

Rockets would be probably the fifth best team in NBA, with Smith, if they don't lose a rotation person to acquire him. Not likely to win, but more likely to at least be competitive in playoffs.

Rockets would go from rebound lite at PF to rebound heavy. Add another great defender.

    Our top asset?
    Harden
    Parsons
    Asik
    Lin

then possibly T-Rob comes into consideration as top asset.

I know Robinson is no Josh Smith, but on this team and possibly starting next to Lin, Harden, Parsons and Asik, you have to imagine that he'd be able to hold his own, and as we saw last night, we're a pesky team for anyone in the playoffs to face.

if we hold onto our assets till the summer, you have to wonder if a team like atlanta or minny or portland has to pay attention to an offer of TRob, Jones, D-Mo for guys like Horford, Love, or Aldridge...

all three are better than Josh Smith, but the question is how much better? Interesting cost-benefit analysis

Problem here is Brooklyn can't take on a S&T player because in the new CBA teams over the cap (or luxury tax I forget which) cannot acquire players through S&T. Brooklyn is both so unless Howard signs for vets minimum he won't end up in Brooklyn. That leave resigning with LA or going to Dallas or Rockets. We might not be the favorites there but it is possible.

There is a huge risk in signing in FA. He might not fit at all on the team:

Not only this, but wouldn't we have his bird rights too?

unfreaking believable that Ferry would want Ellis over prospects, picks and cap relief...
