Its hard for me to remember how excited I fealt after getting tmac. I'm pretty sure i thought that after yao and tmac the team was not very deep. This team is not set in stone and I assume the rockets will use the cap room on a big time player, with maybe a major trade depending on who they sign.

I'm pretty torn though on which team in those two instances I thought had more potential.

I think the Rockets can have three stars by next season. Dwight, Jefferson, Smith, and Millsap seem like they want out of their teams.

    Howard
    Smith
    Parsons
    Harden
    Lin

Of course the team had more potential after getting T-Mac. Two top 10 players? Right now we have one. It's not even close.

The Harden era is in it's infancy. I like the chemistry between Harden/Lin/Parsons

They look like they have fun out there.

Agreed. I'd rather just sit back and enjoy the ride than to put expectations on this young team. The future does look good, though.

    It's the Raptors situation...
We have Carter and then McGrady is coming along... or the other way

I agree you can just see the chemistry and it is getting better all of the time.

They really wanted this game tonight and I was happy to see Harden beat his old team. Plus I was impressed with Parsons, I thought he was gone for at least a few games the way he left and when he came back I was shocked.

I was way more pumped about McGrady, but we had Yao then too. That being said, I might have been a fool. This team seems to be constructed in a way that really makes sense. It's nice to have Maury on our side.

Yeah....this....chemistry is way underrated nowadays and i like what Asik brings to the table, no point wasting money on DH12 when we already have Asik, we just need to develop our rookie PFs and bring in a veteran player like Scola/Battier type of players and we shall develop into great team in 2-3yrs.

I'm not sure yao was ever a top 10 player

Absolutely. But as psyched as I was about the talent of T-Mac, I could never shake the initial impression I had of him as a sulking crybaby on Toronto's bench. He was soft, and turned out to be soft in the long run.

Considering Tmac never made it past the first round, I want this team to not resemble Tmac's era as a Rocket to our current one.

Not if they lose in the first round. Regular season wins mean nothing.

Yao was absolutely a top ten player from 04-07.

we had to give up ALOT more to get Tmac because he was already an established superstar.

The year we finally put it all together (2008) Tmac was injured. but that team was a championship team

    Yao
    Scola/Landry
    Artest/Battier
    McGrady/Wafer
    Brooks/Lowry

    COME ON!!!!

That team back then had a lot of promise. T-Mac was ridiculous at that time, one of the best scorers of all time and a true rising superstar. Yao was a freak of nature that should`ve been dominant for years to come. It`s a shame what happened to that team.

In short: those were two true superstars back then. We have one true superstar and a bunch of really promising role players. So we are not quite at the level we were back then. But I feel like we will be next off season...
