He could be junk, but Morey has a way of making the extras count in trades.

Not a good offensive player, slight promise as a 3 point shooter. Came into the draft with the rep as a good defender. Maybe could be our SG, SF stopper? 37" vertical leap. Seems to rebound okay in the NBDL. Can get steals and blocks (in Dleague). Has worked to improve FT% over the years.

Weaknesses-Superskinny, poor dribbler (turnovers), very poor offensive game, maybe he's just still too young?

    Thoughts?

Meh. Probably as an extra defender off the bench.

    He's definitely athletic.

The red flag on Honeycutt is that he couldn't even produce in the DLeague. That is very damning, when you think of how every single Rocket draft pick has absolutely dominated the DLeague when sent down.

I see him as being a Greg Smith-type project at best right now. Very little chance his $800k option picked up for next year.

His ceiling is probably as a 10mpg defensive stopper. I don't see him getting any meaningful minutes this year or sticking around for next season.

I know The_Yoyo watches a lot of UCLA basketball, I imagine he can provide a little bit of insight with regards to Honeycutt's game.

He's a sleeper to be the one sent to the Bulls for Rip Hamilton's contract and a 1st round pick.

    No. Stop it. STOP IT.

As a Southern California denizen, I watched him throughout UCLA. Don't get your hopes up AT FREAKING ALL. I'm not going to go as far as say he's a scrub, but he can't crack a NBA rotation with his skills.

That's fine. I can handle reality. Just wishful thinking on my part.

    He's a throw-in.

FWIW Dionte Christmas, who the Rockets wanted, but couldn't sign at the end of last season because FIBA clearance didn't arrive in time, just got cut by CSKA Moscow.

Looked good in the Summer League with BOS. Led the Euroleague in 3P% (55.6%).

Not sure if the Rockets are still interested in him, but I very well could see them waive Honeycutt to sign Christmas after the deadline.

WOW, this is over the top there

I thought the F Garcia thread was quite reasonable, but trying to make something out of every single thing that came with the trade to be important? You are tryin' a lil tooooo hard there son

What's next, maybe the real piece to the trade is the 2nd rounder that came with the trade? Or the 1 million cash? Could it? Could CASH be the most overlooked thing in the trade? lolol

I see him being waived or sent down to the d league. We already have enough sg/sf on the team

He's a poor man's Trevor Ariza, if you can even comprehend such an awful thing.
