lets blame mchale for every loss and not give him any credit on wins.....yep thats uniformed clutch fans for you! all you are idiots for not understanding this team is over achieving spoiled dumb-asses is all it is
McHale is racist and hates Lin. Thats why he only played Jeremy Lin 41 minutes instead of 44 minutes like James Harden.
I think you're misunderstanding me. Harden should of course have the higher usage and the majority of our shots, he's a superstar. But, it has been evident to me at least that Harden becomes more turnover prone and inefficient when he takes over too much of the pg duties. That's all I'm saying. Let Lin orchestrate a good chunk of the game and have Harden take over when he feels it or when Lin's trucking, not have Harden be the de facto initiator of the offense cuz it's mostly Harden-isos when that happens. Lin isos are not what I want at all. Where did I ever say that? If anyone should iso, it should be Harden. Lin, as a pg, tends to take less bad shots and force less shots or drives when he's not feeling it and helps create a better flow/rhythm of the game cuz that's what pgs do. Don't mistake any old school train of thought such as letting the pg run the plays be a condemnation of a poster as a crazy Lin fan.
Oh okay, my fault. In the post you quoted, the guy I was responding to was saying that Lin should have a higher usage rate than Harden. To your post though, I don't see it honestly. Harden makes good decisions. Harden hogs the ball less than any other superstar in the league. I rarely ever see him hold the ball for more than 6-8 seconds. He always drives and dishes or gets an efficient FGA and he does it quickly. He didn't get the rep of being the best playmaker in OKC, and he doesn't average 5 assist per game by accident. He makes good decisions, whether that's in an iso or a pick and roll, it results in an assist or bucket, and he doesn't eat any of the shotclock either to do it. Both of our playmakers are TO prone, it's not just Harden, but that's expected with our pace. Lin should get to be a playmaker as well. Trust me, in the beginning of the season I was going around telling everyone Lin is playing too passive of a role. But now? Now there's a really good balance between Harden and Lin. I mean, Lin isn't 16th in assist and 17th in turnovers because he isn't getting the ball. I just don't know what you're expecting. When Lin is orchestrating, Harden goes to the 3 point line and gives Jeremy proper spacing to be a playmaker. When Harden is orchestrating, Lin goes to the 3 point line and gives Harden the proper spacing to be a playmaker. With this plan, we've upset OKC and blown out teams like GSW. I love it honestly. Let those boys cook.
Hearing Mac's post game comments today, I'm extremely happy that our coach has so much faith in his team. He basically said that our talent level is top notch and that our team can compete with anyone. I love that. I agree. Go Rockets!
thats not the only reason we won, did you not know what the situation was before the game? We lost BOTH our 4s.... that is some major shifting and chemistry shifting. You don't know a lot about coaching if you think that keeping the guys focused and competing with the youngest team now undermanned is easy. Lin also scored 29, our offense with both of them was clicking perfectly, with Lin and Harden switching between point and 2-guard. We got great shots and scored about 29 points in 7 minutes. So let me get this straight: If we lose, its Mchale's fault. If we win its because a player does well. Given Harden's great play all season long, he is going to play great in almost every one of our wins, how exactly would you measure coaching success?
Didn't know where else to put this but if we have the roster as it stands, will McHale be ready to give D-Mo, Robinson & Jones minutes? Personally, I don't. I think he's going to stick with Parsons at 4 spot and Delfino at 3.
McHale was shorthanded and started Delfino and Parsons as the forwards. That has effects on the rest of the rotation. It means those are the "horses" he's riding with, and its shorter minutes for anyone else Thats generally what you do against one of the best teams in the league. Coaches don't just the WIDEN the rotation for experimental reasons. And Kevin Durant went just 4-13 FG for 16 pts half his usual amount, and 5 turnovers. This might be the worst game to question the defense approach on Durant.
Well Thabo Sefalosha isnt gonna go off for 30 points every night either. So both teams are even on above-normal player output. ( Its okay to consider the opposing player's great performance as legit, but call Rockets player's performance a fluke? If Kevin Durant did what Harden did, it'd be an "indictment" on our team & coaching for proving a point, instead of it being considered a "fluke" night. )
I obviously knee jerk a lot. There aren't that many great coaches in the league, imo but I find it incredibly frustrating when I see what I consider poor decisions and need to vent. Adelman wasn't perfect either but McHale's small-ball, his infatuation with highlighting Parsons earlier in the season, letting Marcus Morris make a mockery of the PF position while our stable of forwards get no real opportunity and his questionable subs and defensive strategies have given me a bitter taste. He's obviously overachieving with the team, so I give him credit for that, but I'm concerned about some of his offensive strategies and overall acumen. Again though, there's a short list of coaches in the league I'd be happy to have over him. I've never been particularly fond of Brooks as a coach either, the guy is actually pretty awful, though he did do a great job against Pops in the play-offs. Tonight there were a lot of defensive breakdowns and Thabo Sefolosha being wide open all night was obviously due to doubling off of Durant, but we should have kept a warm body on him when he got hot and tried to double off of another player, like say leaving Westbrook wide open for jumpers instead. It gets old seeing 'scrubs' getting red hot and looking unstoppable against the Rockets.
And yeah I won't forget when Asik was destroying the Nuggets on the glass, we were up by double digits in the 4th and McHale decided to go small to 'counter' Karl. Then when Faried was violating us on the glass and the Nuggets had a lay-up drill his strategy was to go even smaller, and smaller still.
Can you still not see the big picture now regarding Morris and PPat? I think it's pretty obvious now that the organization saw that jones and donuts were the future at the PF position after summer league. Knowing that they still understood that they needed to get something for Morris/PP, so how do you do that? Do you do that by cutting their minutes to let the young guys play or do you play the hell out of them to up their value? Easy answer. Mac and Morey played this PERFECTLY! To argue that now is foolish and hard headed.
