PPat + Morris + trash for Josh Smith does not sound as interesting as Robinson + Picks for Smith. Food for thought, we all know Morey loves twists!
I hope not. Id take a cheap Thomas Robinson with great upside instead of a player like Josh Smith that wants and will get the max but we all know he's not even worth it.
there are rumblings on twitter that T Rob may be traded again, but nothing from anyone official, so take it for what it's worth. I doubt it, but with Morey, you never really know
Call me crazy, but I'd honestly rather have Robinson. He's on his rookie contract for many more years and can grow with this team. Wont hinder cap situation. I'd rather have T Rob + free agent instead of just smoove or free agent
this is exactly what Morey and the owner wants... making the playoffs don't believe all this rebuiding all of a sudden You have Harden and you go directly or indirectly for that second allstar could be free agency though
I'f Howard signing with us or being traded to us is a done deal, then sure. I'f not, i wouldn't Smith is 6 years older the robinson, i'd rather stick with a super young core (and cheaper), then give Smith a near max contract. That would go a couple years into his 30's.
I completely agree. I just got done telling someone the same thing. I wouldn't be surprised if that happens or if we sign Dwight and do a sign and trade for Smith using Robinson + pieces.
Can't traded players only be traded again individually? For example, Robinson can only be traded by himself if traded again immediately? His rookie contract wouldn't fetch Josh Smith, BUT then again, I'm no Bima
Hope we keep Robinson. Atleast put him in the starting lineup and build value for a trade this summer..Aldridge. It's crucial too keep the cap space for free agency. We could sign a max player and still have these rookies too swing a deal for Aldridge or Love. Trading now is settling for One instead of two potential max contracts.
I believe you are correct, but I also think that although this deal is announced it is not yet processed by the league so if he is traded again it essential turns into a 4 team trade.
As it stands: Lin/Beverly Harden/Delfino/Anderson Parsons/Garcia Robinson/D-Mo/Jones Asik/Smith/D-Mo SO... This cannot be all that we're doing... I like this as an initial move for something greater. IMO, two moves should (but likely won't) still happen: 1) HOU sends T. Jones and Delfino to CHI for Hamilton, Korver's trade exception ($3m) and 1st round pick 2) HOU sends Garcia, Robinson, and the CHI pick to ATL for Smith HOU line-up: Lin/Beverly Harden/Hamilton Parson/J. Smith/Honeycutt J. Smith/D-Mo Asik/G. Smith http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=aro5z6y (I've included Morris to SAC so the numbers work for HOU-- makes no difference to this trade) This is just one of many scenarios that could happen. I don't necessarily think it will, but wishful thinking, eh? If we DO stand pat until the summer, I wouldn't be surprised to see a heavy push for D-Will, despite what everyone thinks of HOU going after Howard. If that's the (successful) case, our line-up looks like: Williams/Lin Harden/Delfino/(MLE FA or pick) Parsons/White or MLE FA or pick Robinson/D-MO/T. Jones Asik/D-MO
