The Rockets would be the ideal spot for Smith. His ability to create defensive havoc complements the stout rim protection of Omer Asik. The offensive half court may be cramped for space when Jeremy Lin and Smith share the court, but in transition Smoove would ease those rough edges and make Houston absolutely devastating. 4. What's the best landing spot for Paul Millsap? Feldman: Houston. Millsap and James Harden would be a fun combination offensively, especially with Houston's quality floor spacing. That would give Millsap plenty of room to exploit the size or speed mismatches he frequently gains. Patrick Patterson has held his own as a starting power forward, but as a reserve, he could be a difference-maker. Foster: Houston. Millsap would have no competition for post touches, a monster center (Omer Asik) to protect him defensively, and arguably the best pick-and-roll player in basketball in James Harden to provide him a ton of easy buckets. What more could a big guy ask for? Haberstroh: Houston. I'd love to see what Millsap could do in a Mike D'Antoni-type system, and the Rockets have a Texas-sized hole at power forward. With sneaky good range in the corners and a knack for poking the ball away defensively, there's a mini Shawn Marion just waiting to break out.
Wow should've previewed that. Here this is easier to read. 1. What's the best landing spot for Josh Smith? Curtis Harris, Hardwood Paroxysm: Houston. The Rockets would be the ideal spot for Smith. I just want tomorrow to be over with so that I can get back to work, even though I know we probably won't even make a trade.
Its crazy what not being able to watch games do to you. Last year I remember the TD coming so slow and this year its like, here already.
Top 5 landing spots IN A TRADE. It would make no sense for the Rockets to trade for Howard when they can just sign him outright in the off-season. I bet the Rockets would be #2 on the list for Howard right after the Lakers if this was a "Where should Howard sign as a free agent?" article.
i would try and stand pat, then sign millsap this offseason. he wont command the max so we'll have money leftover to sign veteran bench contributors
THIS right here "Haberstroh: Houston. I'd love to see what Millsap could do in a Mike D'Antoni-type system, and the Rockets have a Texas-sized hole at power forward. I can play that game too. It would make no sense for the Rockets to trade for Smith when they can just sign him outright in the off-season It would make no sense for the Rockets to trade for Millsap when they can just sign him outright in the off-season
Don't bird rights come into play? I think the Rockets would pull the trigger, if they knew who they wanted/had only one option, but they probably have their eye on 2-3 guys, so they would rather wait it out.
so true. Dwight howard or a resolution between comca$t and all providers? I'd choose being able to watch the games in that television thingy.
But we can't sign all three outright in free agency....get it?? However, if we had to wait until the off-season to sign one and ONE ONLY, it would be Dwight. Also, we would have to give up significantly more in a trade for Dwight than for the other two players you listed.
We have a Texas sized hole at PF with 5 PF's. :/ I think we become top 6 in the league if we add both Millsap and Smoove. Why not?
I am loving this Rockets team they seem to be getting better and better. Really impressed with them this season well done to the Rockets organization.
