Bars that aren't like flying saucer are going to have their own unique menu of beers. I thought it was okay it's the first place I had ace cider
I agree they don't have a great selection of beer, but the wings, burgers, pizza and queso are all pretty dang good and reasonably priced.
Most places carry some decent craft beers these days. Even Dirt Bar, which had a door fall down while I was there.
Catfish and a bucket of cold ones at Canyon Creek is never a disappointment. Plus it's literally like a 5 minute walk since it's right behind my neighborhood. Great selection of music too, sometimes though it's just too damn loud for conversation.
I know the owner of Sawyer Park, but I haven't talked to him about this place closing. Trust me, he made a killing off it in the four years it was open. He's been closing places and selling them off to others, only to go open a new concept elsewhere. He's still running St Gen, Red Door and a couple other places now.
Probably got a good chunk of money to close it. Makes sense. He can go open the next new thing and keep on making money. It's like when a brand goes bad, they'll just re-brand the same product. People don't know the difference and give it a clean slate.
He said he knew them not that they were friends. If you go to a bar a few times, it is very easy to meet the owner and have a chat with them.
well done fallenphoenix appears to have hate in his heart, leading him to jump to conclusions (insert mat here) due to his bias.
I went in there with some flip flops on to watch a pacquiao fight. Had a few black friends coming in behind me with some Jordan's on and the guy wouldn't let them in. Those shoes were worth more than everything he had on.
I didn't realize that the same dudes run St Gens. Bartenders screwed up my tab on Friday night there and told me that it wouldnt hit my account. Of course, it did. Anyway, Red Door sucks but man they're banking off that place. Edit: Also, it sucks that you can't wear Jordans out a lot unless you know the guys up front. Most pairs cost almost $200 each but why would you wanna wear them out anyway unless you know the place won't be crowded?
Yeah, the following bigtexxx around and accusing him of being racist every time he posts act is getting kind of dull.
Yup. Sure is. They represent the pinnacle of frustration. Meanwhile I'm happy as can be! I have no time for hate
Hughes Hanger on the east end; Avenue, District and Nos, in the middle; and Kung Fu and those 3 other bars across the street on the west end. As a resident, I don't mind it that much other than seeing within the last few months 4 separate incidents of people driving on the wrong side of a one way road (Washington Ave and I-10 and Shepherd/Durham and I-10). Every time it happens, a part of me wants to plow into them to collect monies and teach them a lesson, but then, I fear death.
Yeah, I've heard of that one but I really don't venture must past Heights BLVD or Studemont. I rarely ever drive down Washington at night either, so I'm not even sure where Hughes is. I've almost been slammed into by both cars and drunk idiots crossing the road when I have ventured out late, so I cab it downtown/Midtown or Upper Kirby, or just stay put in the man cave.
Back for over a year now pretty much solidly. Vegas condo is for fun and moved out of the DC apt a few years ago. Pretty sure I have boxes of stuff scattered across the country. I live by some Tex Mex joint called El Tiempo where the parking lot gets filled with so many nice cars that it forced me to see what was so high-end or special about the joint. Turns out, it's just some Tex Mex joint...I'm a little confused by that.
