Halftime. Barca controlled the ball but did not really create any chances. Milan's defense reminds me of defense Chelsea played last year against them. The best chance of the game came from Milan. El-Shrawy's heavy touch cost him a scoring opportunity and then Prince's attempt sailed just wide. Milan needs to covert on those rare golden opportunities.
It's Time for Sanchez time. Xavi doesn't seem to have it tonight which is very surprising. We could use Abidal in a game like this. Get back soon!
Some dude just lost a potential million pound bet because of that Milan goal. He needed 2-0 Barca to hit 1 million of a 1 penny bet.
Well 3-0 win at the Camp isn't impossible is if Messi comes back to the team. I didn't recognize the other guy wearing #10 out there today
Messi played like ****. Ironically, Milan have also given Man City enough to up their Neymar bid to €57m
Barca is a fantastic team and I'm not taking anything away from them, but sometimes "Keep Away" needs to be beaten. Passing the ball around without ever taking a shot is the most boring thing in the world to watch for a neutral. I would much rather watch risk and flair going both ways than Spanish "pendulum" ball every day of the week.
Berlusconi will mark this as his personal victory to be favored in the upcoming election. Didn't see it coming, but I still think, Barca will advance. Schalke did quite good, should be in a good position to make it to the quarters.
I tend to agree; as a neutral, watching Barcelona's dominance with tiki-taka his been fun, but frustrating. When they're on all cylinders, nobody else stands a chance. I haven't watched as much this year as I have in the past, but it seemed like the counter was the best way to play against them - most teams never got that chance, though. For neutrals, the Brazilian style is definitely the most appealing, despite its do-or-die nature.
Typical game from Milan, typical win. It's why they're much more likely to win the league over Madrid - they implement a game plan that works. I hate being so right, so often, but I guess some people were born to run it.
You sound like another self loathing Brit who is overly critical of his familiar environment. Chelsea, as a unit, have a high ceiling game plan and the players to pull off an upset. It's one that works against the best teams in the world - they are the defending champs after all. Milan play a typical Italian game that has been successful for inter in the past and now AC is putting it to use against Barca. Obviously, only 1 team wins but the 4 semifinalists are the 4 likeliest to win because they're the only ones left, not because they're the best or the most dangerous. Ao the top 5 remain the same even when they're defeated. Bayern are not minnows. Germans need to show they can finish for all the potential they have.
Meh, close but not quite. I have more than one familiar environment due to nationality and places lived in but I definitely am overly critical. You're still talking about Chelsea? WTF? And you say the ridiculous top 5 list of teams(that you came up with) to win the CLeague, remains the same even when defeated? I won't even bother. Carry on
FORZA MILAN!!! FORZA ITALIA!!!!! In 10 games vs Italian opposition, Messi has never scored in open play.
