    Yeah, what he said.
I take Motiejunas and Royce White over Jones. Motiejunas gives us size and White's game is just effing good. Great passer, views the court well and doesn't have a bad game on the post moves. All we need from him is to let go of the anxiety disorder and improve his game better. I like Terrence Jones, but I like Motiejunas and White better. I still hope Patterson and Morris get traded instead of Jones, though. :)

Can anyone think why Morey would want a first round pick? Other than packaging it for another deal at the deadline...I can't really think of it....this year's draft is not as good as other years...even the top picks are not for sure yet.

At least D-Mo tries. Jones just stands around looking lost.

Yeah that can reallly kill a player. Like J.Hill, had the talented, size & athleticism to be a great player but was inconsistent and was lost due to his inabillity to focus and learn the stystem.

DMo's problem on D is that he tries to do too much and ends up out of position. I think his defense will be alright when he gets more practice and some more playing time

Man to man, Jones is better defender. It is a five on*five game. Defense is 80% being in right spot. 20% skill once there. I can't remember who said it, but word is that DMo was ahead of Jones because DMo was better as far as knowing where to be defensively.

I think it is pretty much a given that the Rockets have decided that the future is D-Mo. I personally can see why. D-Mo continually has these oh **** I cannot believe he did that moments on offense. Especially in the post. TJ has a game reminiscent of so many other young power forwards. So, it seems much better to trade TJ while he still has "potential".

    1) Jones is probably 4th in line to get minutes at the 4 right now, behind PPat, Marcus and DMo. Without playing time, his value as an asset will likely erode. Even if he is moved for less than his true value, it may be wise to move him if his value will only decline from here.

    2) I would seem to make little sense for Morey to move Jones — a mid 1st rounder from a deep draft, only to acquire a pick to use in an upcoming (assuming 2013) weaker draft.

This is almost certainly a move to convert a tangible asset into a more liquid form that can be more easily used in trades. It's easier to buy with cash than it is to barter with goods and services.

I would not be surprised if any pick acquired for TJ was for the 2014 draft. This is not about getting back equal value for Jones as a player, but rather getting back value that the Rockets can more easily convert for their future trade needs.

Combine this talk with Chicago with another possible move involving PPat. Send PPat to Spurs, Spurs send Nando or Mills to Utah. Chicago sends RIP to Utah. Houston receives Millsap and Mirotic or a future first rounder. That's the deal I wanna see.

I think by the end of the trade deadline the Rockets will end up with:

2 first round picks and a backup center or SG

I remember the pre-season game vs. New Orleans Hornets where T. Jones outrebounded and outplayed his ex KY teammate Anthony Davis. Jones is like 3" shorter and not as long as Davis, but he was able to outmuscle Davis. Reminds me of how Dennis Rodman would beat bigger opponents with his defense and rebounding savvy.

Exactly. We don't have any 1st rd picks to trade away. Hopefully we can get a few before the deadline.
