TJones and Morris for Nick Young and Dorrell Wright and future 1st...

76ers: Get two young players on Rookie contracts

Rockets: $10 million in expiring contracts and 1st round pick

or if the 76ers are ready to do this:

    TJones for Evan Turner

With the Chicago potential trade, I would assume NO PLAYERS are being discussed from the Rockets side because this move would be about getting the Bulls as far under the cap this year and next as possible. Doubt the Terrence Jones potential move is related to the potential Chicago trade.

I'm not opposed to trading Jones as long as it's for an upgrade. If he's converted into a pick that is part of a deal for a starting PF, then i completely agree with you. But i don't want to trade him just to trade him. I believe he has more upside than all the guys you just mentioned. Those guys are role players and Jones has starter potential, maybe even star potential. He's only 19! Converting him into a mid-round pick, just to hold onto that pick, would be selling low, IMHO.

    fortunately, i trust Morey.

Thank the lord that Evan Turner did not become Brandon Roy lite as projected.
    They would never trade him

This thread bums me out, man...

I understand rolling the dice on a different prospect instead of having someone sit on the bench and take up cap space... but, Jones seems like such a stud in summer league..

In before, yeah, but it was summer league.

Not to be nitpicky but he is 21. Not that it matters or anything because that is still exteremely young. He is the youngest player on the youngest team in the NBA regardless.

I dont think this trade would have anything to do with Jones and his potential to be a star. IMO this move would be about a move to acquire an asset that helps them acquire an all-star as early as this Summer similar to the Lowry trade.

    1. Lamb was a #12 pick, a lower lottery pick. Of course OKC would not trade him for anything less. But Jones was #18 pick = mid 1st round pick.

I agree 100%. Rockets are still positioning themselves for the next big move. A first round pick gives Morey a little more flexibility in my opinion.

I think it is indirectly related.

Rockets probably looking to move Jones to a third team for a pick, so they can straight up absorb Hamilton and not violate the roster limits.

Jones + 2012 cap space for 2 1sts and Hamilton would be a very Morey-esque move.

Also, I bet when Morey used the new mid 1st round pick to draft a new guy, you would love the new guy again and said he had more upside than Jones, just like you are now saying Jones is better than Patterson and Morris.

Im just talking as a concept that as a player, he has less value in a trade in comparison to the draft pick. Yes Lowry was a more valuable player, on a great contract, but that's not the point. The point is, what is more valuable in a trade where a team is looking to move a star?

easy bro. we just have a difference of opinion. don't be insulting.

i just think Jones has more value than the typical mid-round pick. it's a very simple statement and not really controversial. Clearly we'll agree to disagree.

Indirectly related sure, but isn't everything at this point geared towards setting themselves back up for All Star move #2?? Both moves would tie directly back to that future move. I for one am really rooting for the Rockets to come out of this week with 2 first rounders without giving up more than 2 young PF's. Would be a HUGE win going into this Summer IMO to make that next move.

Dont want to see him go. Might be the best prospect we have at the 4. Dude was top 5 in his college recruiting class coming out of HS & only played 1 yr on a loaded KU team & the brow & MKG. His potential reminds me of a Garnett-Josh Smith hybrid type when he develops (upside). Plus, he would seem to have more value than a mid-1st, considering he was a mid-1st in a draft that is supposed to be much deeper than this (& most) draft classes. Trade PPat while his value is (should be) peaking.

So you love Jones, okay. But how would you know that the new guy couldn't be better than Jones? How would you know that next year's #18 pick couldn't be better than this year's #18 pick when neither have proven anything.

Also, you haven't thought that just maybe our next potential trade partner (for a 2nd star) might not be in need of a PF? Teams prefer draft picks more so they can draft whoever they like themselves, you know.

I see nothing wrong to gather more best assets (draft pick) rather than letting your asset (Jones) warm the bench and reduce his value with time.

And if you are really a fan of Jones, I think you would like that he could go to a team where he could get some playing time than warming the bench here, no?

I'd rather trade Morris. We don't even know what TJones could develop into
