They don't need to continue to put updates out themselves, you could just download them yourselves. I just think it's pretty douchey that immediately when the new game comes out they shut off servers so you can't play online, update rosters, do online associations or anything. For Madden they at least wait a few years before shutting down their old game's servers.
I don't want to buy a $60 game knowing that in just a year it will be worthless. There even still selling new NBA 2k12 (not like their's a disclaimer on them warning that there is no online or anything). 2k is the only company who does this, it's really annoying to me. To make it worse there wasn't even an announcement or warning.
come on man, what'd you expect. You knew that it'd be this way, it's not a new thing for them, they've had that policy for a while. They focus most of their money into development and turn in a better product comparably to say a madden, so it makes sense that they don't have the cash to blow on servers that last 2 years for each product. Really though, you just need to find your old 2k13 disk
Haha, pretty much this is the main reason I'm upset I guess :grin:. But like shayan said, I don't think they've done this before and could have at least given fair warning rather than one day just mysteriously shutting everything down. IMO kinda lame. Still love the game, but just don't like that bit. I find it cool how I can still play online (if I can find a match) for NCAA Basketball 08.
Well...you can sell older games towards your purchase of the updated 2K... Or you just don't have to buy it. It's all about what ya wanna do my friend.
Anybody play myteam? If so how are your teams looking? I recently started playing and it's pretty fun.
I don't recall that being the case at all. I remember we tried to play in our online league and it was down pretty much 2-3 months after the release of 2k12 if not before that.
myteam is broken. everybody just shoots 3's and i spent 300k on gold booster packs and only got scrubs and signatures.
Damn I use to make two to four threes a game with Morris and Patterson each online. Robinson is awesome around the basket though and is okay from midrange.
I've got him as a 69 with 73 O 59 D and 69 Reb. I'm still playing 2k12 though because I need a new computer. If you learn how to edit faces and player portraits and stuff it's really rewarding when you play though.
i use D-mo online a lot. they don't even know who he is. :grin: i post up with him so much online nobody post up online. they just drives and shoot 3s
