So in NBA 2k, its wrong when they have it listed as 15 million for Lin and Asik in that 3rd year right? Since it doesn't count against the cap and the Rockets pay them avg of 8.3 a year, you have to list it on the game as 8.3 a year for the cap purpose. I'm sick of having to pay lin and Asik 15 mil in 3 years and can't afford to sign anyone lol...

That doesn't affect the Rockets. If the Rockets trade Asik tomorrow, he counts $8.3mil for trade matching purposes. Even if the team trading for him will be paying him ~$2mil this year(whatever % of games left/$5mil), $5mil next year, and $15mil in his 3rd year. For the new team, the cap is still 8.3/8.3/8.3.

Just think what if the Gasol trade went through? Everybody is saying they have faith in our GM but what if that went through? It wouldve took five years to come back from that. I hate punk ass Stern but he saved our ass.

Gasol was a classic example of a player that was misused, though. He would be still awesome on this team had he not been injured. You have one of the most gifted post players today and now you have him be a spot up 3 shooter?? And Gasol is not soft.. Smh at bad coaxhing

I agree somewhat but there would more than likely be no Harden. We would have been screwed. I wouldnt mind having a healthy Gasol with the same players we have but that wouldnt be the case.

I don't know if he was but he should be. D'Antoni is an idiot. If Phil can make Bynum/Gasol work, why can't he can? He has Pau camping out at the 3 point line when he is their best post player.

If you had told Morey that he would have had Harden 2 days before this season started, he would have done exactly what happened. Had Presti known that the nba revenue was probabl;y going to be 20% higher this year, and not traded Harden, well Gasol would have been better than what we had.

Just because our same tradepieces were used, doesnt mean we would not have Harden had the Gasol trade not been vetoed. Morey knew Harden was on the block somehow and would have had assets to get him here. I believe it. Imagine Gasol on this team along with Harden

Yea, obviously. But he was very instrumental in the last dwight fiasco. He was making it clear that Dwight did not want to be in Houston.

But after being here for the all star game, he says "can't wait to get back here". Hmmm I don't want to read too much into it but we keep hearing positive things about houston from Dwight's side. Much different than last year.

Dwight does not want to be there. That much I can read pretty clearly. I think it's between the Nets and Rockets and we have a shot though probably Nets would seem to be his preferred choice from what I've heard from him. Imagine we wouldn't even need to give up anybody this off season!! Harden, Dwight, Parsons, Lin. Trade Asik for a defensive tough pf or keep Asik. Man, can I dream one time!! Best center in the league. Best sg in the league. Young do it all type players with clear potential. We'd be contending right away and we'd have a lob game and a pnr game for our penetrating guards!!
Btw, I'm not that big on Dwight and all the drama and immaturity that comes from that and I don't even know if he's a "winner" or if he's "hungry" as we all are, but his talent is undeniable. I'd take that anytime, drama or not. And my opinion is that whichever star level pf we get is probably not gonna be enough. We need a superstar level player and Howard clearly is that. This off seasons gonna be off the hook!

Actually it would have turned into another trade. We'd have probably got Nene. Who knows what happens then. I always looked as Pau as a chip that we'd try out, but would be such a GREAT asset that he'd be "easy to move" in a big name guy that became available. It also would have kept us in the same mode of rebuilding without rebuilding that Morey wants to accomplish.

We may have still ended up with Harden as well. Just think if we even held onto Pau until this past summer. I guarantee that OKC would have taken Pau and then given us Perkins and Harden. That's just MO though because I don't think that trade would have "hurt us" necessarily. Not five years like you say. That Pau chip would have been very valuable as an asset.

Yes thank you. I saw that post, and was like ummm YAAAAA! LOL we cut Scola, Martin was on the bench sulking and didn't even get to make a "name for himself" last year, was at the lowest trade value ever in his career living off the past basically, and we still got Harden for basically Kevin Martin and some throw in draft picks we drafted, and a future draft pick we got by getting rid of a PG glut. Oh ya and we lost Dragic to FA. SMH at that dude's statement.

Yeah, imagine if we had 33 year old injured Pau and 30 year old and perpetually injured Nene clogging our cap space. What a joy that would be

Last year we had no all stars, no fresh/soph players, no marketability, old legs on the downside and no playoff team.

Now we have an all star who will be the best sg in the nba for a decade, parsons from team shaq, the beard and the lin, the youngest and most inexperienced team in the nba, who also happen to be about the same win/loss ratio with a starting lineup that only has upside.

his back hasnt been a problem at all. he is still dunking on people , leading teh league in rebounds and blocking shots at high pace. If you paid attention, his shoulder has been the problem this season causing him to miss games.

I agree Marc Gasol is a tough SOB,
go and watch Blake Griffin dunk on Gasol all day if you think Pau is a toughie

I'm sure that was more Les pushing for competetive to team rather Moreys plan. Morey said himself at the time that the only way to get better and get a superstar was building through the draft. Harden is damn good surprise b/c we got our superstar through trading kmarts weak ass!
