And he loves Minnesota. It's a win win situation in my eyes. He would be close to his own doctor, and could 'bus' it to more games...I doubt he'll bus it in Minnesota, all that playing time would make flying a lot more comfortable.

I say Morris & Aldrich to Suns for first round pick & a paper clip...(maybe Zeller).
Suns know that they're going to suck for the next few seasons, even with the number 1 pick this year. Why not market the Morris Twins while you clear cap space and bad contracts...

Then if Howard & CP3 are available trade everyone not named Harden if need be...Harden plus those two guys and some D-Leaguers looks great.

Bima called this potential deal months ago, but i'm skeptical that Chi-town can sell their fans on making a deal with Houston that doesn't improve their physical team ...given that we stole Asik from them. Obviously i'm somewhat kidding.

    http://www.sheridanhoops.com/2013/02/19/sheridan-five-potential-trades-that-make-sense/3/

    5. Richard Hamilton from Chicago Bulls to Houston Rockets for a future second-round pick.

Why it Makes Sense for the Bulls: They are nearly $4 million over the luxury tax threshold, and a salary dump of Hamilton allows Jerry Reinsdorf to maintain his perfect record of never having paid a penny in luxury tax – while also opening up more opportunities for Jimmy Butler and Marco Belinelli at the 2-guard spot. Makes sense if you are the pouch of leather known as Jerry’s wallet. Rip is not a luxury-tax worthy expense at this point in his career.

Why it Makes Sense for the Rockets: They have the salary cap space to absorb a player making Hamilton’s salary, giving them a player who could ensure they hand onto their playoff spot – and make them an even more dangerous team when they get there. Hamilton becomes a trade asset next season when he is on an expiring contract.

Will it happen? Money talks, right? Plus, Rockets GM Daryl Morey would like to put together a team for the playoffs that can beat the Thunder, who would be their opponent in a 2-7 matchup. If Morey can parlay his possible leverage hold on Reinsdorf’s wallet into prying Nikola Mirotic away from Gar Forman, he will clinch Executive of the Year.

You haven't been paying much attention to Calderon then I see...

11.6 PPG, 7.4 APG, 48% from the field and 44% from 3, all with a 19.95 PER this season....that's "useless"? And he's a big expiring deal.

Not saying we'll get him...but saying he's useless is just wrong.

Ah, the Mirotic trade. The cause of which led to the Linsanity effect and special scrutiny made of DMo's girlfriend...

Just because the Rockets can buy a second round pick doesn't mean they shouldn't also try to pry additional second rounders from other teams in salary dump moves. For instance, look how valuable that Charlotte second rounder was from the Courtney Lee S&T. It was a key piece to the Harden trade. Seriously, it was. The Rockets could use a pick acquired at the deadline in a draft night trade package, including to move up in the draft. Plus, they'd still be able to buy another pick later.

Sadly, by amnestying him, the Rockets cannot re-acquire Scola until 2015 at the earliest.

Yep. This is pretty much THE trade I'd like to see the Rockets make this week.

Hamilton is still a useful player for this season. He's got a partially-guaranteed deal for next year (only $1 million of his $5 million salary for 2013-14 is guaranteed) that could be a nice trade asset on draft night. Even if they can't trade him, Houston could still waive him under the new Stretch provision and have him only count $333,333 against the cap for each of the next 3 seasons.

Plus, Nikola Mirotic is not only a top prospect (think D-Mo level, maybe/probably better - I think he'd certainly be a lottery pick this year if he was coming over), but by playing in Europe, he will NOT count against the Rockets' cap this summer for purposes of determining how much room Houston would have to sign free agents. Compare that with acquiring Chicago's first rounder this year (in the #20-22 range?), which would count against the cap at the rookie scale salary. (FYI, a first rounder is my second choice after Mirotic's draft rights.) Yes, he's a PF. But he wouldn't be coming over for another 1-2 years, so there's time to clear the glut there before he'd ever come over. Oh, and there's that whole thing about him being a DAMN good trade asset moving forward.

    Love the Mirotic idea...
He's the European Ryan Anderson ...maybe better.

Me too. I like D Mo, but I so wanted Mirotic with the pick that was traded for DMo.

You sell that idea a hell of a lot better than Sheridan did. I read the article and thought, 'that's dumb.' I read your explanation, and I see the wisdom.

Server issues kept one from happening last night. Schedules are tough, so can't promise a pre-trade deadline podcast. (Clutch puts a LOT of effort into putting together the podcasts, since my poor internet connection at home keeps knocking me offline. Poor Clutch has to piece the thing together after we're done!)

We definitely have plans for a post-trade deadline podcast to break down any deals the Rockets make.

I was just going to ask the same question. Rockets are usually involved in a lot of trade talks in the media at trade deadline during the past years.

Anyways....I'd be really surprise if Dwight plays for the Lakers tonight.
