It's funny how Dwight is getting so much hate out of this, and not Kobe.

I mean I understand respecting the talent and 5 rings vs. 0 rings argument. Kobe is, was and will always go down in history as the better player.

But c'mon... isn't this what many of us have wanted for years? For someone to make fun of Kobe? It's fantastic! I mean, there hasn't been much Kobe bashing since Shaq's "tell me how my arse tastes" rap. This is great!

If only one of the players recorded his mockery for us to see. I can picture it in my head, though!

I'd have to see how Nash feels about Kobe first.

because one thing I am ABSOLUTELY certain of, is Kobe is NOT a very likeable person. From the cheating/rape scandal (and "buying off" of his wife), to his countless difficulties with teammates, Kobe has trouble getting along with others it seems.

Dwight's no saint, but he hadn't ever been accused of being a "bad teammate" until Kobe showed up.

I think both Dwight and Kobe are getting what they deserve in this situation.

it is the NY Post reporting it ..., but if true, this takes things to a new level. Open, public feuding and mocking of eachother ...Dwight walking away from that extra $ in the offseason seems more possible now.

I hate Kobe. But even I think that Dwight is a clown in this whole thing. Very unprofessional. I don't want to sell the farm for this guy. He's obviously an upgrade from Asik. But Asik is so much easier to root for and still have upside.

Again: injuries + bad attitude = disaster. We've seen that here not that long ago.

He back-stabbed his coach and pretended things were all cool.

    NY Post...meh.

    Same with Sam Amico.

Media trying to create drama, something there that really isn't.

Because Dwight brought b****-assness to a whole new level. People might hate Kobe but nobody can doubt his work ethic and will to win. Dwight doesn't/haven't showed that fight ever since he was disgruntled in Orlando. It's hard to root for a guy who gets his coach fired and then bolts and still forces a trade.

If Dwight stays with LA after this season, I just don't see how it works unless they make some big changes. New Coach, new offense, new everything. In order for Kobe and Dwight to get along, the Lakers need a very strong Coach that each player respects. I think Phil Jackson may be the only one that can get these guys to work together. If I were the Lakers I would blow this thing up and start over.

Can any NBA fan right now say that their favorite player is Dwight Howard?

Atleast Lebron won over Miami fans and fans around the nation with his on the court basketball results and level of play....Dwight is sucking major ass

Eh, Kobe almost did the same thing right before they pulled off that rapeage for Pau, that's probably the only reason he's still been a Laker his entire career. He'd probably be a Bull if it weren't for the Lakers wanting Deng in return for Kobe.

Kobe won championships with one of the best centers in league history and still drove him away to win yet another championship with the Heat. On top of that Shaq and Dwight have pretty similar personalities both pretty outgoing and also goofy. Kobe has hardly got along with any of the other star players that played alongside him, they just managed to put up with him for the sake of winning.

I could understand why Dwight wanted to leave Orlando, these guys were trying to backpedal their way into a championship by trading for one of the most ridiculous contracts in Hedo and thinking he would solve their problems of getting back to the Finals. Dumb management drove Dwight out of Orlando and he left rightfully so, that franchise was doomed from the moment they submitted that trade to get Hedo back.

Don't want Howard to bring his cancer to this team. However even if we are to get him, why give away major pieces in a trade when he can be had in the off season...?

Contracts aside, I would much rather get someone like Deandre Jordan than Howard.

Jordan was a complete jerk with teammates and practices, but he got it done. Kobe is every bit the competitor, but Dwight rather act like a child, whine, and know he'll still get paid.

i want nothing to do with him.

The dudes didn't even speak to eachother at All Star Weekend?

Even Kobe spoke to Ray Allen although Ray called him out in the media about crying to Dr Buss about needing some help.

I guess Kobe really doesn't have any friends. I wonder what the other guys were saying at the time...

Then again this could be taken out of order and Dwight was trying to be funny- and it ended up not being funny because, well he's not funny

We should ask Robert Horry what he thinks, his 7 rings trumps both of them right?

And I get the Kobe hate, I hated him too. He's threw a ton of people under the bus, acted very immature and arrogant in his younger days, hated all the Kobe nut riders and the Lakers bandwagon fans. But as time has gone on, he's the last of a dying breed. I hated as a package of things, but never as a player. At his age, he's humbled himself a lot.

I respect a player who can still put up his numbers at his age, be every bit as good or better than players who are 10+ years younger than him, and is still regarded as one fo the best in the game. He's one of the last few standing from his era. Garnett and Duncan are wobbling to the finish line, and Kobe is still running towards his. I can respect that.

Apparently he told reporters he doesn't care what happens at the deadline (meaning Dwight of course) so stories are starting to come out.

I could care less about Kobe and what type of person he is off the court. I'm also not a fan of his, but whatever you think about him he's a winner and has something that Howard doesn't have. A Championship Ring. In fact he has FIVE of them.

It's one thing to clown around and have some fun, but there's also a time to know when to act like a PROFESSIONAL athlete!!!!

Howard has NO clue what it takes to win. It's about seizing an opportunity and now. Carpe diem!!!

He joins a team with Kobe, Nash, and Pao, and he's crying about touches? Give me a freakin' break.

This is a guy we'd want to be a team leader of the Rockets? If he came here that's what he'd want to be and if he wasn't he'd cry about it.

Howard is a cancer in the locker room, and in my opinion Morey needs to look elsewhere. That said I don't think Morey is going to look elsewhere. I think he's going to do whatever he can to get Howard after the season. Don't think the Lakers are going to trade him this yr, and they're going to see if he's willing to walk away from the 30 million more they can guarantee him.

Every player talks about wanting to win a championship.

However there's not too many who are willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. I think we've seen the Howard circus for the past couple of yrs and what he's all about. This dude has red flags written all over him!!!!!
