Get out, you're making us christians look bad. You seriously just compared Bruce Lee who was not even a christian to Jeremy Lin a devout christian? If you're a troll, good job, if you're not, then you're a joke.

Other than being Asian, how is Jeremy Lin anything like Bruce Lee, and what does that have to do with basketball?

Does G*d have a higher and better plan for Lin that he doesn't have for the rest of the Rockets players?

And "Joseph in Egypt"? You can't be saying that Lin is some kind of NBA "slave" who will one day advise Commissioner Stern about his dreams, and be appointed NBA governor, right?

Lin is a good player, who obviously has potential, and it seems to me that everyone on CF likes and supports him. He's one player on a team, playing a team sport, and Lin seems to accept that he has a role to play, no different than every other team member. So far this year, the Rockets have done well, with Lin making contributions while doing well for himself. I'm looking forward to more exciting Rockets basketball after the ASG.

I hope you also enjoy the rest of the games this year as we make a run for the playoffs.

TC777 may be an idiot, but it can easily be argued that Jeremy Lin is like Bruce Lee in that both smashed stereotypes about Asians.

Didn't feel like bumping those old all star threads up but remember when fans said not voting for Lin was better for him o_O?

    http://www.csnhouston.com/blog/2013-nba-all-star-weekend/lin-%E2%80%98thankful%E2%80%99-he-wasn%E2%80%99t-voted-all-star
Lin ‘thankful’ he wasn’t voted an All-Star

“I’m kind of thankful I didn’t get voted because when … I want to make sure I’m fully, fully deserving of it, when I play,” Lin said after the team’s evening practice on Monday. “And I didn’t feel like that was the case this year.”

with Lin, people said he's overrated and can't play

with Lee, people said he shouldn't/couldn't go into acting and should stick with martial arts

Yes, and that's where the similarities end. With exception to race, Lin is much more similar to someone like Jackie Robinson. Both born in the USA, both the first prominent people of their ethnicities to play in their respective pro leagues, and both received significant amounts of racism at the pro level.

LOL. Typical American attitude toward Asians. Blame the victim rather than the bigots making the untrue stereotypes. Bravo.

I wouldn't say Jackie Robinson b/c racism against Blacks was way worse at that time than racism against Asians. For example, players like Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian weren't forced to play in a racially segregated league because they weren't welcome in the NBA.

I compare Lin with someone like Warren Moon or Doug Williams. Both played positions (in Moon and Williams' case, QB) that popular opinion believed they were racially unsuited for.

The racism Lin experienced in college were cursing, gestures from opponent players, coaches and audience. It's something you can see and hear. There are other types of racism that we can't see with our eyes and hear with our ears, but doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Decades after his death, Bruce Lee continues to have a lasting impact. He broke the mold on how Asians were portrayed in film. He injected kungfu into the mainstream North American consciousness. He defied time honoured traditions of adhering to a single style, and arguably provided the DNA for today's mixed martial arts. To this day, Bruce Lee continues to be a pop culture reference.

Bruce Lee smashed stereotypes and broke down barriers.

Lin, on the other hand, has made people take notice that bookish, normal-sized Asians can play basketball at the NBA level too. It is far too early to say that Lin's impact has been as a catalyst for change, that is, to stop Asians from being overlooked in American sports. Maybe he will, but only time will tell.

Right now, Jeremy Lin is no Bruce Lee.
