Josh Smith could be a great 3rd piece for a title contending team.

He would make an Ouch-what-were-we-thinking 2nd option though.

Isn't Morey's goal still to make the playoffs?

Morey clearly low-balling Atlanta and serving notice to all the other teams via the media that we can sign Smith outright this summer. How much will other teams offer to Atlanta if there's a good chance Smith signs here anyway?

A Smith trade makes a lot of sense because you get to see how he gels with Harden before paying him. If he doesn't work out you just let him walk and you still have the same cap flexibility

Smith would be a bad pick up, he's not worth the max. Paring up smith and Howard would be great but D12 will not come to Houston. D12 will either stay in LA or go to the nets.

Rockets should stay away from DH. I hope all is moot when he either signs with Lakers or Nets.

Yeah heard on ESPN that Ferry is being low balled but in the end they will trade JSmith on Thursday. I still believe the Rockets will eventually end with JSmith. Rocket's have what the Hawks want young talent.

Actually, I just want the Rockets to get our 1st round draft pick back from the Hawks. 2Pat for the pick, Hawks need insurance for Smith at the PF spot.

If we somehow aquired Dwight and Josh Smith we'd at least have an answer for Deandre Jordan and Blake Griffin.

J Smooth would make us the 5th best team in the West, Dwight makes us the 3rd.

If Dwight was the plan I wish we could pry a PF that could spread the floor more than Smith. I wouldn't complain if we got him though, we would become even more entertaining and this team has time on its side.

As much as i hate saying this but C.Bosh in my opinion fits this offense better. Why? Because he can shoot the three, simple as that.

Am I the only one that thinks we should stand pat? I just don't get everyone's obsession with Josh Smith. What has this guy done in his 8+ year career? In a weak Eastern conference he has never been an all-star nor gotten past the second round, yet wants max-money. What am I missing?

People are always talking about needing a second star. I don't know if I really buy this. Our offense has no trouble putting points up. Besides who knows if Chandler, Lin, or one of our young bigs can't be that star in a couple seasons? I would much rather have a defensive glass-eater at the 4 than a "2nd star." We know what Smith's ceiling is, it's a fringe all-star on a non-contending Eastern play-off team. Does that sound like a max-money guy to you?

Stand pat, let the team gel, see if anything falls into our lap in the off-season.

And why is everyone so eager to ship Asik off? I'm OK sticking with Asik over Howard.

Team over the apron (Lakers) can't do sign & trades. Bima maybe could correct me, but LAL has trade DH now or hope to resign him.

Teams over the apron cannot receive FAs in S&Ts, they can still deal them out.

    Well...sure.

But then you basically gave away some of your best assets for a 3 month rental, and then you hinder your ability at a future trade. It's not that simple.

    I'll say it again...

Miami is not trading away any of the Big 3. It just will not happen.

What assets do we really have that you would have a problem being traded for Smith? Outside of DMo, Harden, Asik, Lin, Parsons and Jones, I'd include anyone in a trade for Smith.
