Anybody who knows anything about Houston rap culture etc. knows that that is "The H". All Houston rap artists use that hand symbol and talk about "throwing up the H" for Houston in their songs, people all around Houston do it, Iv seen Harden do it various times this season and i never saw him do it at all when he was with OKC. As someone posted a pic before Mcgrady also did it during his All Star introduction.

Its very well known and often used around Houston area

If it happens that's fine. The Lakers can still pay him more than any other team. I can see Howard trying to convince LA he will sign with Houston if they don't trade him to the Nets for Brook Lopez. Just like when the Magic threatened to trade him to Houston if he didn't re-up. But now the Rockets actually have a nice, young team.

Well yeah, but he'd be foolish to take a small amount of money extra to waste away on a rebuilding team. If he sticks with LA he's thrown the rest of his prime away with no hope of contending. I doubt he does that.

What if the Lakers make the playoffs and the Rockets miss it again? Would Dwight still consider Houston?

Of course. The Rockets are the youngest in the league, they aren't expected to even come close to the playoffs. As far as the Lakers go, they have a one year window then it all goes to hell.

i agree that the Lakers only have a one or two year window with this team. but then again when do the Lakers ever actually rebuild?? They've never had any problems trying to get star players in one way or another. Im sure once Kobe retires or they lose Pau they will find another star or two to bring in through free agency. Despite their record at the time LA will likely always be an attractive place to play for free agents

There was a lot of luck that went into the Lakers long string of success. It's going to be a few years before they can even start to rebuild and then who knows how long it'll take before they get more star players. It could be one year, it could be a decade. You can't just assume they'll always stumble upon great players.

some of you are still confused, its fine but it is the HOUSTON H, yes it is very similar to the hook em horns gesture, whatever heavy metal gesture or Illuminati gesture you think it is.. but no we use context clues to figure things out. he is in Houston throwing up the H, its that simple..

2014 free agency. They have enough cap space to sign a max free agent. Lakers don't rebuild, they reload.

We'll see, everyone keeps saying that, but it's not a given. The power dynamics in the NBA could be very different then.

I'll add to that, let's say Dwight stays at the lakers.

The question becomes, who can they add that would have them compete with the Clippers, Thunder or Heat?

Barring getting players from those three teams, Kobe, Harden and Carmelo (while he still plays defense) are literally the only talents in the nba capable of being a 1-2 with Dwight that can beat them, and it's clear as a day in the middle of summer that he can't co-exist with Kobe.

The only top level talent that could co-exist with him is Love, and even he would be more likely to come here than go to the Lakers.

He can't stand Kobe, Carmelo will never leave NY and Harden is going to be here for the next 5.5 years.

To make matters worse for the Lakers with Jerry's passing, they're left with the biggest idiot in the nba as their owner.

buss is gone. Dwight won't be back with LA. Lakers is now just business minded, no clue how to build a team and zero draftpicks so good bye future.. Dwight wants to have fun playing. big chance Dwight wants to join the beard in htown.

When did the Illuminati graduate from the Enlightened to the Village Idiot?
