We give up our max salary cap room for this coming off-season for Shawn Marion? Honestly, i'd rather have Patrick Patterson. Marion at PF would give us spacing problems on offense. He's also turning 35 in a couple of months.

Anyway, i would still say no for the simple reason that we sacrifice our max salary cap room going into the off-season.

The cap space we possess is better than gold right now. No way we do anything to hamper that.

We will trade Morris and TD for picks
Rockets want to play DMo and Berverly

Save cap space for summer, use current cap space to acquire a 1st round pick and an expiring (Hamilton). A second round pick we can just buy, no need to trade for one.

Or get a Sammy Dalembert rental for a playoff push.

either one of those moves would make me very happy

Lin/Asik/Parsons/D'Money/Jones untouchable except in a trade for a max player

I think your looking into the Matrix's stats a bit too closely, yeah hes having a great year but there is just no way Morey gives up that salary cap flexability for a aging EX all star.

I wonder how keen Dalembert would be to come back to the H? I mean last year he wanted to be here, and no doubt would have extended if given the chance. But after getting traded for scraps I doubt he would want to play here if he isn't part of the long term plans?

I agree. Usually there is a lot of chatter and rumours going around this time of year.

Detroit trades: Jose Calderon, 2013 Pistons 2nd round pick

Houston trades: Toney Douglas, Cole Aldrich

Detroit saves roughly $7.5M this year and I believe both Douglas and Aldrich are expiring contracts so it doesn't hurt Detroit's cap room this offseason. Houston gets a veteran PG to play behind Lin this year and picks up an early 2nd round pick.

I'd add Jeremy Lin for a top 12 pick on top of that.

I like Asik's D and contract more. Harden, Aldridge, Parsons and Lin is enough offense

If we help facilitate a Josh Smith trade, is there a possibility we get our 1st round pick back (from ATL)?

I doubt it. Atlanta seems to be hoarding picks. We'd have to give something up real good to get that pick, and unless we're getting a big name I don't see Morey giving up something real good.

I know Minny is looking to wheel and deal.

    @WojYahooNBA
Minnesota has been aggressive in offering multiple first-round picks for established talent, league sources tell Y!

Maybe the Rockets could get in on that.

I expect at least one of Patterson, Morris, or White to be gone.

They'd trade White for a pack of gum if anyone would let us dump him on them.

White can easily be traded to Minny for a pick...passing big man who can run Rick's offense.
