Adrian Wojnarowski is one of the very best NBA reporters and is worth listening to, especially before the trade deadline. He thinks highly of where the Rockets are.

    5-star post.

Lowry has already been addressed several times in this thread. Martin was the center piece of a blockbuster trade and constantly in trade rumors. He seemed to be more at odds with the FO, and not the coaching staff. He was also hurt for a good amount of games as you may know.

Never heard of Bud disliking McHale, but he did end up losing his starting job to a superior player in Parsons, so I don't know where you are going with that assumption.

Budinger lost his starting job, but he did get plenty of minutes off the bench and played rather well in them. No evidence of tension between them.

At the most, half of players "enjoy" playing for McHale. No, I cannot prove it, but that's my opinion based on a few things.

I'm glad the team is doing well, but I would much rather have Bickerstaff, Sampson or Finch as a head coach.

They had problems with the stagnant offensive system McHale ran.

Martin was chronically injury prone with the Kings. That last year with the Rockets he had to return to form.

    Really?

Lowry was upset he lost minutes to an injury.

Dragic said he loved playing for McHale.

Lin said McHale is like a father to him.

    Keep trying ....

Chase also did not practice hard and had limited love for the game...

Chase also had one long choking spree where he was absolutely atrocious on the basketball court and could not hit a single open shot.

Chase has been waiting for years to spike somebodies shot - it's what he exists for. One day Chase, one day....

The Rockets have overachieved. They are also terribly inconsistent. Both are McHale's merit and fault.

I think he is a great motivator, but not an incredible strategist. Probably the type of coach most players prefer, but not necessarily the best coach for the Rockets right now.

Why? McHale has installed a read and react offensive strategy. Head coaches effect on games is highly overrated by fans. See link below. Their most important jobs are motivator, mentor, defining strategy at the highest level, organizational duties, and being the coaching face of the franchise. All things that McHale is superb at.

    How so?

Finch, Sampson and Bickerstaff are the X's and O's coaches. McHale is doing exactly what he was selected to do, lead and keep everyone on the same page.

Since when we have a coach of the year with 0.5 team? Nothing against the coach, just name one previous coach of the year with a 0.5 team.

Love how Lin fans just decide that they can speak for NBA players.

Mchale is someone guys like to play for, but X Y Z disagrees! Give me a ****ing break.
