If y'all want to sound off on, among other things, (1) length of the draft, (2) when we should start, (3) how to submit picks (email me or just post on the official thread), and (4) how to score, I'd appreciate it. The scoring is something that's kind of difficult to nail down and honestly may not even be necessary, but I think it would add a dimension of fun to it after the draft is over. We have a few options: (1) Your pick is judged. Let's say KC's GM takes Geno Smith #1 overall and he does in fact, in the real NFL draft, go #1 overall. Then you should get points for getting the player correct. If you get the player wrong, but get the position right, then you get a lesser amount of points. This has a heavier bias towards GMs drafting higher. (2) Your pick is judged against the real draft. This one is similar to the first, but expands on it slightly more. In addition to the points system in (1) above, you get graded relative to the actual draft. If you take a player higher than he goes in the actual draft, you get negative points based on the difference in the picks taken. Alternatively, if you take a player who in the real draft goes higher than you drafted him, you get additional points based on the difference in the picks. (3) Just have a consensus after the mock draft/real draft to see who had the best draft. This is like all the sportswriters "grading the draft" after the fact. It would be much more subjective and is the system I'm leaning toward. Having an [Official] thread for just the draft picks and a [Commentary] thread for all of the chatter may work out best.
Yeah we can just pick in here. If there isn't enough interest maybe some people could control multiple teams.
Sounds good. Just need to make sure that people stay abreast of picks and not double dip on an already drafted player. Also, I'll let "sign up" run for another couple of weeks and see if we can get it filled. If not, multiple teams is definitely an option.
