Dragic and Lin's stats this year are pretty close. And it's also eery how close Dragic numbers were to Linsanity last year. I'm surprised Dragic isn't putting up monster numbers with the supporting cast in PHX to be honest. They suck so if nothing else I figured he'd at least be padding his stats.
And EVERY single thread related to the rockets will attract many posters in full force to praise Lin. (im exaggerating but you get my point) Yes I agree Lin is improving and the rockets have a bright future with harden Lin parsons Asik etc, but sometimes the Lin fans can get way out of hand. I've noticed that it isn't as bad as it was in the beginning of the season though, mainly due to Lin playing better which leads to less haters.
In the 26 games he started he averaged 18.2 points, yet he NEVER scored more than 16 points in a game? Go look up some stats before dissing players. The only reason Lin got the "linsanity" title was because he was pretty much a nobody before that and he did it in....well New York. Look up the stats and they had similar numbers. Dragic Lin 26 games 25 games 18.2 ppg 18.2 ppg 8.3 apg 7.7 apg 3.5 rpg 3.7 rpg 1.8 spg 2.0 spg 3.4 TO 4.7 TO .487 FG% .445 FG% .376 3P% .343 3P% .839 FT% .796 FT% "no one cared. No one was watching" Also it's great to see you're a rockets fan.
I think the rockets overpaid Lin but he was the only viable point guard on the market after Morey let Dragic go and traded Lowry. So the price was a premium due to those 2 gone and no other point guard on the market. And also for China, Les, Linsanity, Harvard, Christian, underdog story yada yada. The suns ain't going nowhere soon and Dragic is stuck with them for the next 3 years. I pity the fool and his player option. Also the Knicks aren't in too good a shape and will likely exit the first round again and their only asset is Shumpert. Looks like Lin got his cake and eating it too by coming to Houston.
What I like about Dragic is that he has no fear and has a lot more confidence in himself than Lin. I bet you don't see him taking any crap from Sampson. Dude went up in the air to challenge Derrick Rose's monster gorilla smash..... That's courage for ya!
Dragic was Lin before Lin became Lin. Lol. Hope he gets some help in PHX. I think they'll do something next year and Dragic can shine as he has complete control of the floor over there and he got game.
lin averaging 24pts and 9ast probably had something to do with it there's never been a stretch of games where dragic averaged those numbers.
Right. That's why I joined the forum in 2004. You're not very intelligent and can't handle the fact I don't think Lin is a good pg. I've gotten plenty of traction with my argument as well as plenty of rep.
jeremy lin would be a better player if he wasnt a bible thumping chrisitan. an atheist Lin would mean a more aggressive, confident basketball player.
Ok when exactly was linsanity, some people here say the last 25 games, some say 7 (or 11?). What games were they
People really don't get it. Linsanity was about the Ws. It officially ended after the 7 game winning streak. While he still put up amazing numbers up until the Heat game, the phenomenon was already over by that point. It's ridiculous to compare Dragic to Linsanity because while Dragic got his, the Rockets were losing during that stretch. You can however, compare Dragic to Lin the player, then their stats are almost identical last season and this season. But posters on GARM keep on bringing up Linsanity, so what they're saying is they want us to win every game. During Linsanity Lin played horribly in some games, but they won. The only disappointment this season is that Lin hasn't improved, now that he got his explosiveness back he's literally the exact same player as last year. I do think Dragic is the better player, and he's pretty consistent on a game to game basis, while Lin has some brilliant moments then some cringe worthy moments, which can be perceived as both a good or bad thing, hence the polarity.

I would say 9 games - when Lin was #1 option before Melo came back from injury. Team was 8-1 Lin posted 25ppg 9.2apg FG% 0.509 TS% 0.584.
I think a lot of people look at Lin's stats this year and say he's an average point guard. Actually with all the talented point guards in the league right now that's not bad at all. Just looking at his stats however does not show his true value to the Rockets. There are intangibles such as team chemistry that seem to be rarely discussed. Jeremy does a lot to promote team chemistry both by his effort on defense and particulary by his unselfishness on offense. I believe team chemistry is the key to winning - more than other intangibles and way more than stats.
Haven't you heard of Christian Crusades in the 12th century? There is nothing passive about a Christian. Besides when did aggression become a synonym for confidence?
