Identity Thief. 7/10 It has some long moments of no laughs but when it's funny it is really funny. Jason Bateman plays his normal self but Melissa McCarthy makes the movie as normal.
Just saw this last night too. Man, what a disappointment of a movie. Great acting by Denzel and first 15 or so minutes of the movie was pretty cool, but after that, BLAH! It was just a surmon and AA advertisment pretty much.
I don't really look like either (I am half Mexican American, half Apache). Curious though why you would ask? The Sheikh's role was very likable, as he provided the moral compass for the movie (introduced the concept of faith as the two main leads weren't religious, was the target of extremist characters who were upset that the Sheikh was introducing western culture via fishing and even via irrigation), and ultimately was sympathetic to the McGregor character when it appeared that Blount was going back to her boyfriend). Add to that the actor portrayed him in a very understated way that added to the Sheikh's likability. That said, McGregor and Blount were also very likable and did well in their performances. The most unlikable character was Scott Thomas, as the PR person she was pretty slimy (but that was desired of her in this role). Think of her as the Streep role in The Devil Wears Prada... over the top.
Take Me Home - 6.2, I don't know why so many people seem to recommend this movie. It wasn't anything to write home about. Enjoyed the soundtrack a lot though.
Broke - espn documentary on how pro athletes end up being broke just afew years after retiring. I recomend it for more than just sports fans. I give it a 7.5 rating
Escort- ESPN documentary on how pro athletes specifically Harden be dropping thousands of dollars on high end escorts before each regular season game.. I recommend it for more than just sports fan and inquiring minds. I give it a 10.0 rating..
I didn't think it was that bad... but then again I watched it while working the night shift, so pretty much anything to kill time is worth it. I'd give it a 6/10. Best part was in the hotel when Goodman came in. Really made me want to do some lines and fly a plane!
Watched Sucker Punch... I really have no idea how to rate it. It was odd to say the least. I wouldn't say it was terrible, but it wasn't 'good' by anymeans. Just odd. If I actually paid to watch it, my opinion might be different.
Tell me about it man, Denzel is really good in a bad to average movie. Amour – Michael Haneke’s film about the end of a love story is heartbreaking and brutally honest, great acting both Jean-Louis Trintignant & Emmanuelle Riva. A tough watch but it’s probably one of Haneke’s most accessible and straightforward films. – A Beast of Southern Wild – Really impressed by this film. It’s a lot denser than I expected even though it’s deceptively simple plot wise. Quvenzhané Wallis & Dwight Henry are both really impressive in their roles. Quvenzhané is just as impressive as I’d heard but can’t really tell if it’s acting or if more of her real personality coming through, always tough to gauge a child actor. - A
Boondock Saints. 6/10. I had a feeling I waited too long and the cult classic group would over-hype. Maybe could go to 7 if Defoe wasn't in it.
Pitch Perfect - 5/10 Liked the singing, love Anna Kendrick, but predictable as hell and wasn't as funny as I had heard. Perfectly average movie. Not bad, not good.
A Good Day to Die Hard: 7/10 Lots of great action, a lot of cheesy lines, said he was on vacation a little too much
You rate it a 7, WOW!!!! That is very high for an action movie and curious, have you seen the original Die Hard??
Saw this today, it really wasn't too bad. I'd give it a bit less than a 7, maybe a 6.8 or so. The action was pretty impressive to me really. They definitely spent some money. Some of the lines were hit and miss. The vacation thing was definitely overdone. It was entertaining, definitely!
