That's OHMSS not LOF. He takes the crown for worst basketball insight of any poster to ever grace this BBS.
I'm not a LOF. I don't even like Jeremy Lin's game all that much. There are plenty of other point guards I would rather have than him. The fact is that Dragic and Lowry are easily two of the dumbest point guards I have ever seen. So, that's how a very overrated player like Lin is still better than they are. I could count 2-3 of the most absurd and dumbest plays imaginable every game from Dragic and Lowry, and sometimes more. Any team with point guards like that is clearly trying to tank. Don't call someone a LOF if they are not, just for stating the truth. Like I said, Lin is no way in hell my ideal point guard.
tired of hearing this....Andre Miller had a bunch of scrubs out in cleveland in the early 2000's. They won less than 30 games, but that didn't stop him from still leading the league in assists. Kyrie Irving is shining with scrubs.....you can't blame Dragic's teammates for him not shining.
You act like once Melo came back Lin disappeared. Check the stats. Games with Melo..... Lin put up 16.2 points and 6.8 assists. That's with iso melo half the time, the trigger happy JR Smith and Amare Stoudemire. What did you expect from Lin once Melo came back?? 20 points 8 assists? He did just fine with Melo, if any give him credit for being able to fall back and play with the team. Dragic would lose his mind playing with Harden. YOur other point about Lin being scouted and maybe he just won't get better. What's is that based on? Nothing, it's just silly assumption considering we've already seen him get better this year. Defense is better, he's been shooting the 3 a lot better, he's finishing going left. Here's the thing....Dragic had his 1st "linsanity" moment back in the 2010 playoffs. Then he sucked with the Suns and that got him traded. Fast forward 2 years later and that brings us to today. Yet somehow you won't even afford Lin a season before you start assuming he's peaked. Goran in 2011 with the Rockets was better than Linsanity!?!? He never scored more than 16 points in a game. He hit double figures 9 times in a bunch of meaningless games to end the season. He had no pressure, no one cared, no one was watching. Now that he's the guy in phoenix we see how that's turning out. To even suggest his stretch in 2011 was just as good or better than Linsanity!??! I don't what you're smoking but I could use some. Dragic role playing minutes in meaningless games compared to doing it under the bright lights of NYC, saving the entire Knick season!?!? Playing with mostly scrubs and leading the Knicks with 38 pts over the Lakers on ESPN...then 28-14 in a victory over the Mavs on ABC...we all know what happened in Toronto. In baseball terms this is you going nuts over the guy who hit .360 in garbage games to end the season in 50 at bats and saying superior to a guy who saved a team's season and hit .330 in 250 at bats.
**** the Knicks. Don't give a damn about what he did on a different team. All I know is Dragic thrived under Mchale.
OP wins. OP claims to be a Dragic fan, but he opened his account in this forum at the time when Dragic opted out. As the season goes on, Rox fans seem to gradually accept Lin and Lin fans seem to gradually cease to overly defend Lin, yes, OP jumped out and tried to stir up the rivalry again. I say, let this thread die.
So you want to compare Dragic LAST SEASON vs Lin THIS SEASON? People only pulling out Last Season Lin because you guys keep bringing back Last Season Dragic
You call me the groupie & you are using adjectives like sizzling? Are you for real. Anyway all of this doesn't even really answer my question.
No guys we have to bump this thread after every good Lin game for the rest of the season. And all the bad ones too. And the ones in between. And then hopefully during the offseason have some random troll bump it a few more times.
It's because King1 exists on this forum just to trash Lin, and as Dragic is obviously no better than Lin and he knows he can't get much traction with this argument (other than with the OP and a few minority posters here), so King1 decides it is better to trash both together.
I will admit I skipped most 2012 ers' posts, coz I know what they gonna say before they open their mouth. All said, Lin and gogi are comparable players, to claim one is significantly better than the other, is plain wrong and biased. But Lin is younger, so I can live with the front office's decision for now. I do miss Lowry though, one poster said it, he was done wrong, for that I dislike McHale towards this day.
Him having bad teammates is a dumb excuse. If you are a good enough PG you find ways to put up numbers on a bad team. Look at Jrue this year or Dre back in Cleveland or Kyrie or David Lee all those years in GSW. Dragic can't be the primary ball handler because they play him off the ball in 4th quarters because he has a awful feel for the game. Lin holds opponents to 0.87 PPP & Dragic is at 0.93 PPP so yes Lin statistically is the superior defender. Dragic is shooting slightly lower 3P% than Lin but a slightly higher FG% than him. Honestly I think scoring wise they are both a wash. Dragic is at the top of the scouting report in PHX. Lin & Harden are at the top of the scouting report in Houston. I don't think you understand PPG as a stat. Lin is averaging 13 points (not 12) but he is ONLY taking 11 shots. FGA is just as important when considering FGM. Yes one is much better than the other. How is dragic a better fit on this team than Lin though? Like I am genuinely puzzled by why people feel that way. Dragic is the inferior defender, & is currently shooting worse from 3 than Lin & there FG% are pretty much a wash. Dragic isn't a better passer than Lin that is for sure. Genuinely curious why are people so confident that Goran would be the better fit?
We might have 1 or 2 more wins with Dragic, mostly from when Lin was sucking in the beginning of the season. But what does that mean in the grand scheme of things? Nothing. Replacing an average(lower end) with another average(upper end) player doesn't do anything. We need to replace our PF position, that will give us the biggest talent upgrade.
you mean, replacing Dragic with Lin in Phoenix, they win a whole bunch more games and then people would go on and say, "oh but Lin has a great supporting cast in Phoenix".
Lin and Dragic are basically the same player this season. Lin is younger and his contract is better for the team. That's pretty much all there is to it.
