If we were to get Howard in a trade Asik is gone. If we acquired him in FA then we have the best defensive front court in the NBA. Howard starting at the 4 is amazing.

No. They've have the worst FT shooting Front court ever. They'd have no spacing in the paint for Harden and Howard wouldn't be fast enough to guard stretch 4's.

Parsons plays 4 against the stretch guys. Not every team has a Ryan Anderson or Kevin Love. I know you are right with the spacing but it would be a joy defensively (against non stretch 4s of course) and would have a height advantage like no other team. Honestly the more I type out, the more I feel like losing Asik for Howard would make me a little sad.

Howard isn't going to get any better than what he is and Asik is still improving. And if the Rockets want to roll the dice on a center then Bynum (if healthy) is the guy.

no clue why the obsession with Dwight. Amare in just one off-season's training is now better at low post moves than Dwight with 8 years of intensive experience on the Magics. His offensive skill is still so rudimentary after so many years featured low-post plays. He is as bad at FT as Shaq but without the off. low-post dominance of the latter. Not a fan.

Dwight is not really the answer IMO. Asik isnt the answer either. But getting Dwight will not fix our PF problem. I think that should be adressed this off-season over anything else. Lots of good quality 4's coming onto the market.

    Milsap
    Josh Smith
    Al Jefferson

And you never know, if Portland and Minnesota do not make the playoffs, Klove and Lamarcus could become available. Which would obviously hurt our current team in trading for one.

Now the way Id be down for dwight would be signing him and moving Asik and other parts to lure another boarderline star to town...like some people have mentioned Dwight and Josh Smith. Long shot, but who knows, Htown is poppin right now.

We also need to slove our back up PG problem...

And this year...one side note....dump marcus morris' minutes for Dmo!!

Speaking of KG, he'd be really good next to Dwight and Harden. I'm pretty sure he would decline his NTC to here in the offseason.

You people are crazy not to want Howard. He may not have the best post moves or be able to hit a free throw, but neither could Asik. Now look at Asik, he has improved so much. Howard is defiantly an upgrade over him in blocks, rebounds, steals, and just being able to catch simple passes down low. Howard will no doubt bounce back next year and be healthy. Just imagine having him and Asik backing him up.

If we could give half of KG's brain to Motiejunas would be perfect

Sign Him and then trade him for KLove or LMA when he becomes tradeable. Point is, he's a very valuable asset.

For those of you who has been able to watch Howard playing this season, how healthy is he? My only concern is his health. If he has completely recovered, I think Rockets should try hard to get him. With a healthy and happy Howard and the improvements of our young guns, we will be a legit contender.

He looks like a shell of his former self.

Back related issues are interesting because a player can heal from it but often they will never be the same mentally. I dealt with some back related issues from weightlifting about a year ago and it was about eight months until the constant pain went away and even now I still fear of retweaking any time I lift or play basketball. Add into the fact that NBA basketball is one of the most grueling schedules in professional sports and there lies the problem. I would expect Dwight to recover physically for the most part but he is getting older and there is no guarantee he will ever get that explosiveness back.

The reason we even have a chance to get him is the fact that he is injured. If he were healthy the Lakers would be a top 4 seed in the West and this wouldn't even be an issue. The team hasn't been fair to him during this process and we know that Dwight is sensitive for an athlete.

I do not understand why people here would not want Howard. The only valid argument is health concerns (which frankly, would scare me). But besides that, all other arguments are ridiculous. He is a baby, but he is by far the best center in the NBA. His presence would allow us to get all the missing pieces really easily (and cheap!) because immediately Houston becomes a contender.

I am not only cheering for Houston to make the playoffs, but also for LA to miss the playoffs. If these two happen, there is a genuine chance that Howard will come here. I think playing he dislikes Kobe so much, that he would be willing to sacrifice the lost money and visibility LA can provide. Unless the Lakers trade Kobe, to be able to keep Howard. That would actually be the smart move by the Lakers. (of course they will never do it, but it would be an incredible story).

I'd definitely sign him in free agency if possible... then flip him ASAP for Kevin Love!!

As far as his team not being fair, it really isn't about sensitivity. He's the best big man in the game & he hasn't received the necessary support from his own team. That's rediculous... Especially being that they traded for him knowing he was injured.

    Dwight Howard

Wouldnt the acquisition of Dwight be remniscent of reliving the McGrady era. Dwight does seem to be somewhat of a primadonna, and is already dealing with back problems

We need to get off the Dwight bandwagon. The guy is clearly a cancer to any team he is on.

Putting aside concerns about Howard's long term health issues (and I'm concerned), why does he walk away from $30 million bucks? Walk away from $30 million bucks and "the media capital of the world?" (that's in quotes, because an argument could be made that New York is the media capital of the world, but I digress) Why does Howard do that? Because he doesn't like Kobe? Does anyone really like Bryant?

I don't see it happening, and you never know... it might be better if it didn't.
