Um, Tyson Chandler IS an all-star this year, playing without Lin. :)

That said, yes I agree with your point, and I think he would be an asset to the team.

And he doesn't help us get past OKC. That's a team that can live off jumpers SA as well. And they have Surge, Perk, and Duncan to shut him down in the paint.

Would be a waste of money in the long run...

He's a prima donna, doesn't look like he's giving 100%, terrible free throw shooter, sulks when he doesn't get his way. Gets the coach fired, and then says he didn't. All that said, I think if he is available, you have to sign him..
Rockets instantly a contender for the finals. Not too many other players that can do that for you.

I thought Howard would get one extra year with the Lakers?

Howard gets a 5 year deal if he re-signs in LA.

    4 year deal everywhere else.

truth is he will be the only "superstar" available on the FA market in the next 4 years. Love and alderiage are stuck with their teams , cp3 will be back with the clippers, the heatles arent breaking up regardless of salary cap issues and lebron will resign with miami no doubt due to him being about WINNING over $$. Dwight is our best option and morey let EVERYONE KNOW he wont be choosey. Omer can easily be packaged to another team for a above avearge player/allstar guy . Morey is playing chess while we here at GARM are playing emotional checkers

do not get your logic...you just named all bad things but still want him on this team...but did not name one good thing he will bring to this team other than maybe a packed house every night but guess what the Rockets have sold all but two home games...so why Asik is having a better season than Howard...he has no plays drawn up for him...yall are just fans of him cause if you was a Rockets fan you will see he is not what this team needs

 even with shoulder problem, he is having better season than asik, where are you getting your info? He has better rebounding, blocks, FG% and Defensive eff rating than omer this season AFTER coming back from back surgery and sore shoulder

Why you making excuses for the guy who is not on this team???

FG%: Asik .548% Howard .578 = 3% more for somebody who has plays drawn up for him

    Rebounding: Asik is #1 in total Rebounds w/ 634 Howard #3 w/ 565

    your points are invalid

And I'm sure he IS happy with Asik, who wouldn't be? But that doesn't mean he wouldn't be interested in Howard... If you can replace a good player with a star, you do it, especially if there won't be another star of Howard's caliber available for years

You can't just pick out stats from season X and say that is why one player is better than another... The bottom line is that Howard would have the chance to elevate this team in a way that Asik just can't... It's not a knock on Asik he's really good... It's just that do you take a gamble on a guy that could get the team to the Finals (Howard) or do you sign or trade for a lesser player that makes the Rockets like a solid 2nd round playoff type team, with no chance at the Finals (unless Lin starts playing like a star next season, which is possible but maybe not probable)

I already know how GMs work and plus remember when Morey stated that he liked the team going into the season and then bam Harden came along...so that is not even new to me but it will be a mistake to go after Howard...he will stback this organization...we are just not getting out of a bad situation w/ T-Mac and Yao and they got togetrher in 2004 its just 2012 - 13

I think he would have a better attitude here then the Lakers .....first of all hes hurt and then second he dont like playing with Kobe and 3rd he wouldnt have all the pressure here in Houston you would have in LA and he would share the load with Harden it wouldnt be all on Dwight remeber before he got hurt in orlando he was having "fun" and wen to the finals but after the soap opera in Olando and now in Lakers cause theres no "fun" and hes still 27 so im not gonna write him off just yet cause of the injurys

One possibility: Dwight Howard's camp may be floating this "I like Houston" stuff as leverage to try to get him traded to Brooklyn.

Specifically, Dwight wants (in no particular order): 1) a 5 yr max deal, 2) a big glamor market and 3) a team on which he can win and be happy. LA gives him the first two but he's miserable and apparently doesn't like his coach or teammate. Houston could give him 3) but not 2) and not 1) unless he's traded to HOU before the deadline. Brooklyn can possibly give him all 3 and word is he still wants to go there. Brooklyn also has a great trade piece in Brook Lopez (more valuable than anyone HOU will realistically offer given that Harden is off limits), so it is a more realistic "forced trade" destination.

The issue with Brooklyn is that a straight signing is impossible even at the 4 yr max, so if he wants to force the Lakers to deal him to Brooklyn, he has to use a city with cap room and an attractive situation as leverage. Thus, the "HOU is fun and attractive" talk.

So, my guess is that, if Lakers capitulates to Dwight and trades him, it will be to Brooklyn for Lopez. HOU's best chance is hoping that Dwight stays in LA past the deadline and becomes even more disgruntled by the summer so he may actually have to carry out his threat.

Having plays drawn up for you has nothing to do with having a higher fg%. If anything guys like Asik should have a much higher fg% because all their fgas are put backs or when people pretty much forget about them
