No, if he doesnt pan out, his contract will be considered overpaid and he wont be worth enough to trade for another superstar

I still think he's better than Asik, but I would rather have a center like Chandler over both of them

I know he has talent but his work ethic has to be seriously questioned, do you give a max contract to a guy that is flaky in that department?

I know his talent but dang, I am on the fence about him as a player.

Yep. If Howard wants to come to Houston, it would be in his best interest to get traded here before the end of this trade season. That way he can almost the same amount of money as he will in LA. All he'll be missing is that extra year that he could get if LA designated Howard.

But Kupchak said he's not trading Howard so I guess that's that.

Not to mention that the assets, that would have been used in a S&T, could instead be used to surround Harden & Howard with better complimentary parts.

You know, I never would have believed I'm saying this before the season began, but a.) I'm not sure if I want Dwight Howard and b.) if we were to acquire him, he would need to be okay with being our second option.

I can't imagine he would be willing to do that. If Kobe and Nash can't keep him in line, I really don't see how he's going to be able to fall in line behind a (then) 24 year old James Harden.

I'm not sure that, at this point (post injury), we really stand anything to gain defensively from Howard over Asik. His free throw shooting is even worse than Asik's, and really, he doesn't even have that much more of a post game - he just has considerably better hands.

I'm also incredibly weary of big men with either back problems or knee/feet problems. I've had enough of injury plagued superstars to last me the next decade or so.

And while I've always been critical of how little he seems to have progressed in his career, hearing both Kobe and Nash question his heart and work ethic lately has really made me reconsider whether he's worth having at max dollars. Sure, Kobe has a history of being critical of his co-stars, but Nash, one of the all time great teammates? Not so much.

Still, I can't help but dream just a little of a fully recovered Howard catching alley oops from Lin and Harden and swatting everything that gets past our front court.

If they miss the playoffs, yeah, I think the chances go up that he leaves.

Do those odds go up enough where he does actually leave? I don't know, I still lean towards not.

It's still LA. It's still Hollywood. It's still the Lakers. He's getting that extra year and moneys worth.

I guess my thinking is things would have to get really, really bad for him to leave. Are we there yet? I don't think so.** Will it get there? Who knows.

**While I don't think things have gotten really bad, I don't think he has really enjoyed this year either.

No. People have seen what he has done before they will always consider that for any player.

This might be a dumb question but are these scripted? It just seems pretty convenient he'd sit on the outside seat. lol

When you buy a ticket, is there something in the contract that says they can pie you in the face and humiliate you on national television if they choose to? lol

i think he will stay in LA. if LA misses the playoffs then i could possibly see him leaving, but the lakers usually get their way and im sure that another star would come to the aid of an aging kobe and broken dwight. as far as acquiring dwight, i think that you dont pass up on a star like that. but he has shown a few things to the public IMO: 1. he is injury prone with that major back surgery 2. he is a ****ing prima donna 3. he is a questionable first option in the clutch

His heart is probably telling him Houston, while his brain is saying LA

Taking my homer glasses off i really don't see why Howard would stay in L.A. That whole team is old, and they have no draft picks to build around him. He can sign here and play along side our solid supporting cast. Plus he would have a solid backup in asik and would not have to do the heavy lifting that he's doing in la. You could stick asik on his matchup and basically use him like how the spurs use tim duncan.

No to mention he gets to play with the leagues best young shooting guard and a pass first point-guard. Jeremy lin made tyson chandler look like an all-star last year imagine what he would do to dwight's game. And we also have a great big man coach in K-mac who is dying to have a legit big-man that he can groom, he would do wonders to Howard's post game.

Plus we have some great stretch 4's to play along side him, as well as some legit three point threats. Morey has built a solid team that's one superstar away from contention its up to him to sell Dwight on this team.
