I was at the rising stars game and it was maybe 3/4 full. There were a lot of empty seats. Looks like the same today. Rockets always draw crappy crowds. The only team that really draws is the texans and when they were losing reliant seemed to be half full. The tickets might be sold but no is showing up. I think houston just isn't a good sports town.
I kinda disagree with you. whenever i seen the texans during the losings era, fans were still supportive. fans aren't stupid. they know they can easily lose their football team again.
This is a super corporate event. The empty seats you're seeing are reflective of that. Rockets aren't allowed to sell seats down there for these events....they're reserved for corporate sponsors. The "houston is a bad sports town" is completely misplaced in this discussion. Has nothing to do with the average Houston sports fan this weekend.
The All-Star Saturday events is awful. I blame NBA for this. I am glad there's empty seats. Can't wait to watch Rockets game. I am done with this weekend.
like i said before. saturday's events were alot better in 06. can't even lie, imma be pretty pissed if sunday is just as bad.
Agreed. Can't believe people pay too much money for Friday and Saturday's events. It wasn't worth watching. It wasn't thrilling as it used to be. It's getting awful each year. I dont know about Sunday's game but I think it will be not competitive just like Rising Stars. I would be disappointed.
probably 80% of the people in the lower bowl probably don't even live in Houston since they are for sponsors and certain number of tickets for the other 29 teams, so don't blame Houstonians for showing up another thing, the capacity for Rockets games is about 18,300, I'd take about 2-3,000 away from that because 2/3 of the south end of the lower section is basically the concert stage, plus their are only 2-4 rows for court side seats, compared to around 4-8 rows on each end of the court.
Do those corporate seats sell out at other All-Star games or is it just Houston that has corporate seats that are visible when not sold out?
