Almost did. Chemistry did get disrupted near the end of the season after Lowry returned. And McHale did a terrible coaching job down the stretch of the previous season (many fans convinced we were tanking it to keep our pick).
Dragic, even with his 4th year player option would've been fine in terms of fit with Harden and our teams' plans moving forward IF we had made the trade with OKC earlier in the offseason. People forget that Dragic was elite on the fast break and one of the best at finishing in the paint. He also had the size and athleticism to keep up with the elite PGs. Also he was a good shooter with deep range. A Harden/Dragic backcourt is >> than a Harden/Lin, and most likely would've had a higher ceiling even if Lin's potential is greater than Dragic's which I don't believe. Also he costs less than Lin as well.
No he really isn't. Dragic isn't a better passer nor is he a better defender. In fact Dragic isn't really a PG. Goran is a better scorer but in terms of running an offense he isn't as good as Lin. Dragic is much better suited at the 2 guard position which is what I was saying since the beginning of the season. THere is a reason why Lindsey hunter has been playing Kendall Marshall alongside Goran in crunch time minutes. Coach hunter also said he likes having Goran at the 2 looking to score & not having to focus on setting teammates up. Now Kyle Lowry is better than Lin but Dragic isn't. I would have understood if OP said he misses Lowry but Dragic, nahh. http://arizonasports.com/41/1610747/Suns-analyst-Dragic-a-natural-shooting-guard
Suns might as well just give us Scola back. He can be a mentor to our players plus our starting power forward until he turns 37.
Dragic is like Felton. pretty good when playing on a loaded team. sucks otherwise. doesn't make his team better. laughable defense
Damn, when will fans realize NO team will build around role players like Dragic, Lowry and Lin. You use those players to build around your stars. Thus, those players need adjust their games to better fit the star players, not the other way around. I am not saying role players are not important, and the coaching staff should tweak the system to play their strengths as much as they can.
Yeah that team we had last season was loaded with stars..... Disagree on laughable defense. I wouldn't call him good. He isn't strong nor very quick BUT he did try to stay in front of his man. Calling it laughable is dumb and proves that you probably did not start watching Rocket games prior to the team getting Lin.
I really do not see why what Morey says about a player matters. What do you expect him to say? "yeah we plan on using him as an asset and hopefully trade him for a much better player."
Why do you compare harden to lee if Martin was the starter? It's still the Same result (Harden >> Martin), but still.
he couldn't stay in front of an old man, nash. i proved it as i watched about 1min of suns and fakers game on NBA.TV that happened showed nash beat him w/o any help and made the layup while the game was still close enough for suns to win but he couldn't stop nash in that play.
The Rockets looked better with Dragic at PG than they did with Lowry (at least in my mind and I watched every game last season). The offense just seemed so much smoother and more in sync. I love KLow BUT Dragic seemed like so much more of a natural ballhandler and was much better at finishing around the rim (while Lowry would just try and draw contact flopping to the ground). Also another reason why this post is about missing Dragic is due to the fact that the pick which we traded Lowry for was the key piece in netting us Harden.
Lin wasn't that much better than dragic last year, they both had similar numbers. If we were to contend now I'd prefer dragic over Lin, but since we aren't ready Lin gets the nod. He has a brighter future mainly because he is younger and if he is able to improve in his shooting (like Lowry) he can be a very good player. Dragic is what he is.
c'mon, the game was on the line. all his teammates on their man to eliminate any possible for nash to pass. everyone watched him to defend nash's ISO play. he was beaten by an old nash so badly that there is no way you can convince me he is a solid defender. nash didn't use any help and just straight up beat him. when nash made the layup, gogi was not even close to nash and was still at ft line. the play started at the top of 3 pt line. you see how bad he was beaten.
