I am tired of fans making excuses for their idols. Always other peoples' fault. Guess what, Chri Paul, Dwade, Kyrie Irving, and many other great players have been on bad teams at some point of their career, but they still shine. If you need all the stars to lineup perfectly for you to perform, maybe you just are not that good. Same goes with Lin and Lowry, to their fans, it's always the coaching, their teammates, or something else when they don't play well.
Come on man, you lose all credibility by trying to use a teams record as evidence that 1 player is better than another player. Surrounding talent means a lot. I'm not even going to get into the argument of who I think is better, just pointing out how useless looking at the teams record is as a valid arguing point.
Worthless thread, comparing two young points guards who have yet to peak is usually wasted energy unless one is significantly better. lol at your Dragic comparison to Tony Parker, one of the greatest players of this era. Can I use the same argument for Lin then? Dragic got to backup and learn from one of the greatest point guards in history in the Sun's offense while Lin was fighting to keep his career alive in the d-league. See how stupid that sounds? (although less stupid than what you suggested about tp and dragic)
My problem with Lin is he doesn't have the ability to dribble with pressure on him and he's not a good shooter. Defenses increase the pressure they apply in the playoffs. Should be interesting to see how Lin holds up.
I agree it is not fair to judge a player based on the team's record. But if a player can't even put up good numbers on bad team with ball in his hands all the time, maybe he is just not as good as his fans think.
Dragic turns 27 in May. That's not young by NBA standards. I'd like for someone to give me a complete list of players over the past twenty years who got better after the age of 27. It's not going to be much of a list, I'll tell you that. Dragic is as good as he's going to get, guys. Jeremy Lin has a reasonable chance at getting better. Lin is 24 and has a good work ethic. Lin is already one of the league's best defensive guards and if he can just improve his perimeter shooting, he will be quite the asset at his price.
first i haven't paid any attention on him since he signed with suns. he is not a rox anymore. who cares how he has been. but for some reasons, i got a chance to watch him playing. it was an accident caused by NBA.TV. His play I saw first made me sick and made me happy rox didn't sign him. on tues, NBA.TV completed our game vs gs and switched to the game suns vs fakers for the last min of the game. right after the switch, the first play it showed was nash had the ball on the top of 3 pt line and gogi defended him. nash was going for ISO play. all fakers stayed away from the painted area and left the lane wide open. no screen and no p&r. just in blink of a moment, nash left gogi in the dust and made a layup. before that play, suns was down only by 6 pt with less min to go. gogi's defense was horrible, no effort at all. when your team was down 6 in less than a min, you would do whatever you could to stop other team to score and get the ball back. he didn't anything to defend nash. maybe you won't believe what i saw. i know on this board there are quite NBA league pass holder. They can watch the achieve and prove what I saw. i don't want a player who cares own #s and puts him ahead of the team. plain and simple. i am done with him.
I'll tell you one thing though. Not many have the lateral quickness to stop a fast pg. Who in your mind has lateral quickness? I'll bet Lin will blow right by him and if your were scrutinizing THAT player, you'd say that HE has no lateral quickness. But, I agree. lol.
Miss Dragic? lol, wrong player to miss. Lowry was better than Dragic. Can shoot the 3s and defend. Two things Dragic can't do.
