It was intended as ridiculous and absurd, of course on a ridiculous and absurd thread like this I can understand how that would be hard to tell what is sarcasm and what is just lunacy.
His efficiency rating for Feb. is 15th while his minutes played are 24th. His shooting pct has been gradually improving all season long - if u don't believe me look it up. To conclude that because he is playing less that is why he is shooting better is what makes no sense and is absurd.
He played 34 minutes last game. Is that not enough...??? He also shot 4-12 and only scored 14 points.
So you're marking a point based on 1 game when our best player is out? Actually he had 9 pts in the 1st Q and was then benched for a lengthy time. Then he got kicked, manhandled, screamed at by the coach and hurt his wrist. Why wasn't the coach screaming at who was defending Butler and Billups in the 1st Q? Please don't make your points based on 1 game.
Last game without Harden, Parsons shot 7-16 for 17 points Lin shot 4-12 for 14 points Patterson shot 6-11 for 12 points Morris shot 4-11 for 10 points Asik shot 5-8 for 8 points I don't care for McHale as a coach but that's terrible shooting... Also shows just how much impact Harden has on this team because all these guys are bench players and borderline starters.
I'm not going by one game. He's averaging 32 minutes a game so far this season. Which are starters minutes.... Chris Paul and Tony Parker average 32 minutes as well.
I don't understand how some of the McHale apologists only respond to the "Lin" arguments and ignore every other one focused on other players. Let's say that McHale is making the right calls on everything related to Lin. How can you justify his other stupid decisions like: 1. Losing games due to him going small ball when we need rebounds and inside presence to prevent opponent's second opportunity points. 2. His overall time management for 2Pat and Mook. Actually, his overall time management at the PF position. 3. Playing TD as a PG when it is obvious to everyone else that he is an undersized SG. 4. His boneheaded insistence on not playing rookies even when the starters are all gassed due to back to backs. Hell, we lost a game to Wolves because they had the audacity *GASP* to do the opposite with players with 10 day contracts. 5. His time management for Asik overall and his love for Aldrich (I hope for his sake that it is because they are trying to showcase him) 6. His rigid substitution patterns and how he takes out the hot hand just because "the time is up" I could probably come up more if I forced myself to think but I am sure this post will most likely be ignored by most of you because, hey, coaching doesn't affect the outcome of games!! (Could agree with this if we had a roster full of superstars and not young developing players; someone has to manage their inconsistency to get the results.) TL;DR McHale cannot read the game at all as a coach and his decisions are bad for the overall growth of this young team. Please feel free to continue ignoring valid criticism and derailing the thread with "You Lin fans are ridiculous" comments (Rockets PR department should pay you for the amount of damage control you are doing here)
^Yup, I agree. McHale is not a terrible coach, but he is also not a good one (in my opinion). This thread was started last year when Lin was not on the Rockets and the points in the OP address some of the points you raised too. But because of some emotional Lin fans in here, people need to counter these fans' attacks on McHale by propping him up more than he deserves.
No one's defending McHale here. They're just responding to idiots. Lin Only Fan: MCFAIL NO LIKE LIN! HE RACIST AND DON'T WANT TO PLAY HIM
