This is exactly what happens in our offense so I don't know what you're getting at? Harden or Lin always initiates then we start moving the ball once defenses are trying to play catchup. Harden and Lin are clearly the playmakers of this team. I mean literally they are always the ones who initiate the ball movement. So what are you complaining about? This is such a reach. Again, implying the McHale doesn't like Lin bs. Lin said he has never had as much communication with a coach as he does with McHale. He said McHale sends him texts every day. Does that sound like a coach who is "yelling" at him to sooth his own ego. He is invested in Lin because Lin is the starting PG of our team. He yells at him(which has happened how often? Like once that we've seen?) when he doesn't play well. You're reaching your own conclusions with no basis. Lin isn't getting so few minutes. He's pretty much average. I would guess he's within 2-3 minutes of almost every pg in the league. There have been games we've lost where Lin has played 40 minutes, and games we've won when he's played 25 minutes. Lin doesn't play well sometimes and Douglas/Beverly does play well sometimes, so logically his minutes will be restricted some games and extended other games. If we had another coach, you wouldn't be seeing the Jeremy Lin show like you're expecting. You would probably see less ball movement and more Harden iso's.
He's the PG on the team. His usage rate should be 1st not 2nd. He's the only player on the team that has an above 2.0 assists/turnover ratio. We're not among the league leaders in turnovers for no reason - we have point guard by commitee. Too many guys are playing PG - last game it was Parsons (sounds like MHale was behind that sorry sight ).
So there's no room for improvement? Really Bobby you're so easily satisfied - even after a loss that was really larger than the final score. And don't tell me we would have given up less than 46 pts. in the 1st Q with Harden.
Where's the coaching when you allow Caron Butler to score 17 pts. in the 1st quarter?? It's not like he's a superstar you can't stop for crying out loud. A lot of his shots were wide open. Satisfied with THAT BOBBY???
May I state the obvious here? McHale and his coaching staff probably have 100 years NBA experience. They have seen hundreds of NBA players come and go. And you people do not think them capable of coaching Lin in the best way possible???????? What sort of ultra-egotistical mindset do you have that you think you know better than real NBA coaches????
And the McHale makes Parsons the point guard who keeps losing the ball driving into traffic. SATISFIED WITH THAT BOBBY?????
We are just fans like you and this is a discussion forum. If you don't like it that not everybody agrees with you that's just too damn bad!
All that has nothing to do with Jeremy's inconsistent outside shot, picking up his dribble to fast, or running into traffic with no purpose. Talented he is but he is still a work in progress. His numbers are decent but in this freelance style read and react offense you would think his numbers would be a little better. But as he grows and develops I'm sure his numbers will increase. The kid is still a rookie considering his NBA playing experience and McHale yells at rookies. It's nothing new. Some of you expect more from Jeremy than what you should at this point...
I don't consider a winning record with the youngest team in the league with the lowest payroll in the league on pace to make the playoffs being "easily" satisfied. I don't care that the Rockets lost to one of the best teams in the West when their best player is out....don't you think you have kind of high expectations for this team? So a player getting hot in one quarter of one game is reason to panic? I get that you have a problem with anyone but Lin handling the ball, but it's just how this team works, and they are winning with it. Maybe this isn't the team for you if you get THAT bent out of shape by guys like Parsons and Harden handling the ball occasionally because it's going to happen because it works.
First and foremost, if playing time is some sort of reward for being a good PG, then 24th is probably enough minutes for Lin, since he is about the 24th best starting PG in the league. Since that is obviously stupid and not how PT is allocated, you are completely ignoring that he has been playing his best in February with this set of minutes, so if playing him that number of minutes produces the best results, why would McHale want to change that? Makes no sesnse. If Lin were treated like every other rookie that comes through here, he would be in the d-league and not even sniff significant playing time until year two. And no matter what you believe, Lin is no more entitled to minutes than anyone else, because frankly he hasn't shown he deserves it. No matter what you or any other Lin fanatic believes, Lin is not going to get special treatment, guaranteed minutes, or pampering by this organization. If McHale doesn't like what he is doing, than he is certainly has the right to yell at him or bench him. Thats just the way it is. Ridiculous and absurd.
