I wouldn't give up DMo for Howard, if they wanted Jones, Morris, or Patterson, fine. He'll I'd give them Jones, Morris, AND Patterson before I'd give them DMo.

Personally I would give up quite a bit, pending physical of course. Basically the only person I'd hesitant on is Parsons. But even then, once I realize that I'm getting Dwight Howard(again pending physical) I'd wave goodbye to Parsons in a second. If Howard is not healthy, I'd lean towards what you're giving.

But certainly, a deal can work salary wise around Asik(or Lin except that doesn't make basketball sense for either team) and Douglas' expiring.

Yeah, his turnovers too... With the ball in mostly in his hands, his assist numbers should be high.

But that's neither here nor there LOL.

Dwight has reached double digit field goal attempts 4 times (barely) in the last 10 games. That's unacceptable.

Some of yall act like a 3rd or 4th team couldn't potentially be involved to help with the salary matching...

    Wait... Can that happen?

Lakers should think about blowing it up next year. If kobe, gasol, nash and dwight isn't working for you its time to make huge change. I'd welcome a kobe trade if was a lakers fan, build around dwight and some good young players that you'd get for kobe, nash and gasol.

Kobe's 34, nash is what 38? gasol is like 31/32? Who's better then dwight, to pair with them for there 2 year playoff run windo? Nobody, imo (thats attainable). They should just keep rolling with dwight and kobe or give up on kobe and trade him.

Kobe is completely and totally untradeable.

Morey isn't going to trade for Howard unless there is a guarantee he's going to sign an extension...

Morey has Harden now so he is not desperate.

I used to think Howard would never get injured. He's built like a bull.

I look at this situation the same way as Andrew Bynum last year. He's hurt and is about to become a free agent with a cloudy future. People were talking about how a change of scenery for Bynum would make him into the big man he was capable of becoming, and he's yet to play a single game this season for the Sixers.

I would not want the Rockets to be in the same situation as the Sixers, so thanks but no thanks...

Kobe is going to be 35, Nash is already 39 and Gasol is going to be 33 real soon

There is no way Lakers would trade Howard for DMo. The only way Lakers would trade Howard to Houston is if Asik or Harden were involved in the deal. But like I said before that would be a steal for the Lakers.

Wouldn't matter really, with the laughably ridiculous contract that he has the Lakers couldn't give him away for free.

I didn't read this thread in its entirety but has this been proposed:

Jlin, Parsons, Patterson, Asik for D12? Salaries match perfectly ($200k diff) and no need to use the trade exception (use it for something else). Seems pretty reasonable for the Lakers, and for the Rockets, Jlin and Asik we're free agent pickups anyways. Just add more pieces during the offseason (PG, SF).

That would be a horribly one sided trade for the Lakers. The most I'd offer for Howard would be Asik, Aldrich, Patterson, and Douglas.

Most I'd offer for him is Asik, Parsons, Aldrich, and Morris and that's only if he wants to re-up here and if the doctors can clear him. With 2 stars on the squad, it may entice a guy like Iggy to use his ETO and sign here to be the 3rd piece in the offseason.

    Lin/Beverley
    Harden/Anderson
    Iggy/Delfino
    Ppat/Dmo/Jones
    Howard/Smith

Very dangerous team with the potential to be even better.
