Would be a bad trade for the Celtics.

I think there is a better chance the Celtics keep Howard over the Lakers at this point but in the end where will they be at when Garnett retires in a year or two?

If Howard is going to go somewhere other than the Lakers than it's going to be a team that has a young star player in their prime or about to enter their prime.

If he wants to play for a historic franchise and a bunch of old dudes he could just stay in LA.

Yeah, but at this point LA may not want him. But this trade also make little sense in the fact that LA has Steve Nash. How do they settle that matter?

Anyway, if LA doesn't think they can re-sign him, then there's no way in hell Boston will get him to stay. Worse franchise for marketing, colder weather, crappier teammates. So overall I see this as a rumor at best.

IMO, Dwight Howard is still most likely going to re-sign with the Lakers or traded to the Nets(for Lopez) should the Nets still want him. But if he last til FA, I think he's Houston bound.

I get the feeling you want him to come to Houston by why? He has not progress in any part of his game over the years...yall forget why we won that first game against the Lakers this season ....cause D Suck could not hit a free throw

Howard is a clear upgrade from Asik. When you have the opportunity to improve the team, you do so. It's not like Asik can hit free throws any better.

The big question is if the Lakers would want Brook Lopez. I'm sure the Nets would love to have Howard, I think they would trade anyone for him... but the Lakers are more likely to roll the dice on Howard resigning than to get Brook Lopez back in return.

If the Lakers ARE entertaining trades, I wonder if Morey will try to get in on this to make sure there is little doubt to Howard resigning here.

He's the best center in the NBA.

Someone earlier said a superstar player wins his match-up every night. That's pretty much why.

The only doubt I have about Howard is his back. If that isn't a problem moving forward than absolutely you go after him.

Injury issues aside, which I don't know are chronic or not, I think Lopez is very much a worthy trade chip for Howard, relative to what anyone else would offer. And he's certainly young enough to be a future building block.

I'm quite certain he still feels Howard as top target. With CP3 almost certainly out of the picture, who else is there? Josh Smith? Millsap? Lebron pipedream in 2 years?

If Howard's physical checks out and his back issues are this season only, I'd easily give up half the team not named Harden to get him.

No way Lakers trade Howard to Houston. If they do trade him, it will be to an Eastern Conference team

Dwight seems to want to play for a team where he can have fun with his teammates off the court, like play videogames with and just goof around with. He's not able to do that in LA as most of the Laker players don't care for it. That's why I think he'd be a great fit for the Rockets. All business on the court but know how to relax and have fun off it together (the Rockets more than most team seem to do a lot of stuff together in their downtime). He can grow with the team, emotionally and mentally.

I think it'd be a good trade for the Lakers, I'm just not sure most of the league's other GMs are so high on Brook and his contract. I guess we'll know soon enough.

Because it seems like the Lakers may be more willing to bet on Howard resigning any ways than to trade him to Brooklyn.

Howard 49% free throw shooter this year

Asik 55% free throw shooter this year

Asik+Parsons+Aldrich+Patterson for Howard is a good deal for both teams.

Like I said, they both suck at free throws.

Dwight Howard farts in the locker room. I don't know if Harden, Lin and Parsons would tolerate it. They are serious people who look and smell nice.

Take Parsons out of the deal and it's good for both teams.

Howard's talent is unquestionable but I still do not want him on the Rockets. My rather large gut tells me that he just doesn't have the right mentality and makeup to win a championship.

His lingering injuries are issues too, but beyond that, I am really skeptical of his drive.

Never understood this logic. If OKC offered up Durant for Howard he would be staying in the west. A competent gm is going to take the offer he feels is the best regardless of what conference it comes from.

If Dwight Howard would have express his interest in HOU earlier, we could have kept Daequan Cook to help with salary matching. As of now this is going to take quite a bit of mechanical maneuvering to just make the salaries work.
