AMEN. I was ready to yell at the screen when I saw his quote. I seriously hope this isn't the route he's planning on taking. Because even OKC has Ibaka and Perkins in the paint.
That is like saying McHale is an infinitely better coach than Keith Smart. You are right. But that really isn't the greatest compliment saying Stephen A is better than dumb ass Skip.
Does the fact that Morey came out in support of McHale mean that everyone can stop with the McHale hate/fire talk? He is our head coach. Deal with it.
This is a rebuilding year. Everyone seems to forget this squad was suppose to be awful and only win 20-30 games. One more decent offseason and we will be a little deeper. This is not a championship team but it is going to be one. It's a little unfair to compare it a great Lakers or Celtics team. Pretty sure Morey knows defense is important and that will given its importance when we bring in another 4.
Or a lock down perimeter defender and legitimate back up center... It's not the style of play that is necessarily important _ because all that comes to a hault during the playoffs. It comes down to rather or not a team has a player(s) on the perimeter that can isolate and break down a defense 30 feet from the basket. Not many teams have won championships without one.
I don't know, man, but SAS's got his sources. Stephen A. Smith on NetsDaily: "I had a reliable source tell me this... Dwight Howard will categorically deny it, but I trust my source... When they were playing Toronto recently, he sat there on the court and told Rudy Gay, 'You messed up bad, man. You should have waited and end up with me in Brooklyn next year.' That's what he told him." Raptors fans were quick to point out that Rudy Gay wasn't with the team yet when they played the Lakers.
That really is funny, no matter how unlikely or even impossible that it is, the NY media will still be reporting that Howard is going to end up with the Nets.
I guess Parsons too. Morey said in one of the radio interviews that Parson is in the Rockets long term plan, something like that. So I guess unless the teams who own the superstar/all star that Morey really wants demand Parsons or Lin in the package in exchange for their star, Parsons and Lin will be here to stay. But never say never. For example, if CP3 is available to Morey, Lin will be gone for sure. But the chance of CP3 coming to H-town is really small, isn't it?
If you guys expect Morey to come out and say "Nah - the uptempo thing is crap. We're only trying to get more possessions into each game so that our young guys get higher stats, which in turn makes them more appealing as trade bait for actually good players" then I think you've got another thing coming... OR maybe you wanted him to say "Nah - we just play uptempo because it's exciting, and we're trying to fill the stadium a bit more often"
